Johnson Central 90 Sheldon Clark 66

Featured Replies

Johnson Central runs their record to 3-1 (1-0) with a big district win over Sheldon Clark. Jamie McCarty scores 56 in the win and sets a new school single game scoring record in the process.

Should look good on some of those college resumes, scoring 56 may get him some looks from some bigger schools simple as that...if the word gets out.

This was a great game for McCarty! He was on fire tonight! He waited for his shots and got them. It was an amazing game to witness. Great job JCHS!! Keep it up boys.

Great game for the Eagles. To bad I had to miss it. McCarty's name is out there its just a matter of time. One thing that IMO he is going to have to get better at is learning to become a little more team minded. I havent had the chance to watch a game this year but I know last year he tended to take bad shots instead of passing the ball out to the open man. Become a solid passer and ballhandler, the sky is the limit for this kid.

This year he has definitely improved in that aspect. JC didnt break off plays and he just let the shots come to him, because the majority he was WIDE open. Also, he does look at his teammates and has became the leader that this club needs. Last night, they had so much confidence in this young man as the players kept feeding him the ball and thats the way a team should play. Great win for the eagles and an awesome accomplishment by JAMIE MCCARTY!!!!!!!!!

I had no idea McCarty had so many points until I heard it on the radio after the game! That's a testiment to the fact that he wasn't forcing anything or being a ball hog. He simply let the game come to him. When Sheldon Clark concentrated their defense on him, he worked all the harder without the ball to get in a position to help his team!

He's a great player!

I also like Central's new point guard who transferred from Sheldon Clark! He's a great asset to an already good team!

Congrats to McCarty, I only heard the last 3 minutes or so on the radio. Were they trying to let him break the record because he scored his 56th point while having a 25 point lead with little over a minute to go in the game. Sometimes things like that can come back to haunt a team. Did the oppossing fans & team seem to take it that JCC were trying to run up the score?

Midway through the 4th quarter this was a 9 point game. So, I really don't think that JC was trying to run up the score.

Thanks, as I said only heard about the last 3 minutes. Again congrats to MCCarty & JCC
