  1. When HC played Whitley County, their starters were literally on the bench for most of the 4th quarter. I thought that Henry Clay handled themselves and the way they won in a sportmans like manner. I have no complaints. Bottom line, it is your job to score and my job to stop you. If I can't then it is not your problem it is mine. Good Luck to the Blue Devils in their attempt to get to the "Pizza Box"
  2. I don't agree with campbellfield very often but I agree this time.....Take it easy on Coach Farris. I have known him since before he was at Corbin and that has nothing to do with the high expectations that he puts on kids (like all good coaches do)
  3. Where are Quinten Henson and Jarrod Lawson these days?
  4. Congrats Hounds on a fine season. As far as the blame game goes....sometimes the ball just does not bounce your way. Willard is a great coach, the kids love him and that is the true indication of a coach. He not only produces good football players, but fine young men. I am happy to call him a friend. It really gets old reading (not just on this thread) fans on coaches backs when they have no concept of how much time and effort goes into coaching any sport. Do they see the coaches staying till 2:00 and 3:00 AM after games doing laundry, coming in on Sundays to break down film? Do they understand the personal sacrifice of these men who miss family time (kids and grandkids games, ballet recitals, etc.) who use that time to prepare the teams, who take verbal abuse from fans who don't have a clue about what it really takes to win? I have respect for every coach, although I don't agree with some of thier tactics sometimes, and in some cases don't even like them, I do respect the job they do. Fans have to understand somtimes teams are just better, remember the coaches can't suit up and play, they would if they could but they can't so they try (sometimes in vain) to make the kids play at higher levels than the kids think they can. Willard Farris is a class guy and without him, I would venture to say that Corbin might not have been as far down the road as they were. Terry Joe Martin disappointed me again, when the Hounds had it fourth and 20 in the second overtime he was ready to close the book, but Willard made a great play call and the kids executed. Sometimes you just have to believe and TJ Martin did not. Shame, Shame, Shame......Listen to Stan Lovitt, that guy believes, no matter what the circumstances. In Mr. Martin's defense, it takes alot of time and preparation to do games on the radio and it is obvious he does not do it and it is only a side line thing for him.
  5. Congrats to Paul Rains and company on a great win...regardless of Beechwood being somewhat down it is still a great win to get over a storied program
  6. It was 7-7 at the end of regulation. Desales scored with less than 2 minutes in the game to tie. Both teams scored on 4th down on their first possessions. Both scored easily on their second possessions. With Corbin going second in the third overtime, they fail on 4th and 2 and Desales goes on to win the game.
  7. Final Desales 27 Corbin 21 Triple overtime......
  8. On fourth down the Hounds give it to Freeman......STOPPED COLD.... Final Desales 27 Corbin 21 triple OT
  9. Desales 27 Corbin 21 4th and goal from the 2 for Corbin.....Time out
  10. Good game by both teams.... I hope they don't put too much blame on the kicker.....I am sure he is the sickest guy in the State of Kentucky Congrats to Lynn Camp on a fine season
  11. after 2 overtimes 21 all....... Desales gets the ball first in the third overtime.......
  12. 14- Corbin 14- Desales after one overtime...both teams score on 4th down Desales on 1 yard run....Corbin on a TE pass from the 20.
  13. if the kick was blocked.....is Lynn Camp still trailing 28-27?
  14. Corbin 7 Desales 7 1:43 in regulation Desales scores late to tie.........
  15. Start of the 4th Quarter: Paintsville has a negative 29 yard drive, has to punt from their own endzone. Lynn Camp gets the ball near mid field. Paintsville 28 Lynn Camp 14
  16. Hmmmmm...interesting. Whitley held them to 85 yards passing and their lowest total offensive output of the year.....But it really has no bearing on this game. I was impressed with SL. But Henry Clay has a excellant team and does things that SL can't stop. I have seen this first hand. Seriously, SL had a hard time with Rider.....Johnson is just like Rider except bigger faster and stronger. Simpson is big fast and strong, and can throw the ball. #55 Could be the best defensive player in 4A....HE IS A PLAYER!!! Just too many weapons for HC.
  17. Whitley had one TD called back on a questionable "illegal lineman down field" and one just purely dropped, which would have given them three TDs. I don't disagree with what you are saying but Henry Clay just has more athletes. I certainly hope that the Cardinals win, but is would be a Huge upset in my opinion.
  18. Whitley has played both and to honest Whitley whipped SL everywhere but the score board. Now I know that is where it counts and my hats off to South Laurel for that game and winning to get to this game, and I certainly would love to see them win........ BUT.......... Henry Clay is good, No they are better than good. Their noseguard is the best player defensive I have seen all year, he has speed strength and plays really smart. He makes plays all over. Their secondary FLYS to the football and when they do make a mistake defensively, they have the speed to correct it. They are big, fast and well coached. Offensively they are fast and have all kinds of weapons. #27 can run the rock, and he can catch. #7 is fast and runs solid routes and can move with the ball after the catch. Plus Simpson is one cool customer, he stood in and took some hits from Whitley and still completed the pass. He can throw on the run and he can run it. To win SL will have to go vertical and get some yards, but I don't see that happening. Seriously Whitley held them to under 100 yards passing, but just made mistakes selling out to stop the pass and forgot the run. Henry Clay won't make that same mistake becuase they have enough athletes to stop both. Henry Clay wins by a comfortable margin, and they may be what ever they want it to be..........
  19. Henry Clay is an outstanding football team well coached and they execute perfectly. Henry Clay kicked off....3 and out for Whiltey, Touchdown for Henry Clay and the rout was on. Well over 300 yards passing, almost 500 yards total offense for Henry Clay. Whitley played hard but was just out-manned. #55 for Henry Clay was the best defensive player I have seen all year.... Good Luck BlueDevils.... To the Weightroom for the Red Storm...they will get better, Henry Clay was just too much.....
  20. Of course that is wrong and it goes on all the time. The father who is obviously living vicariously through his kids is the root of the problem in the case. But I can also give you cases where kids are recruited, so nothing new there. Once again you are missing the train, certainly recruiting is a problem but not the whole problem. You just want, like most private athletic supporters, to pick out certain parts to argue.
  21. I will tell you why it is not a problem....tutition. Of course there are no "sholarships" and only 50% can be paid by a grant in aid....MONEY is an issue..........
  22. Careful about casting stones without proof....you will hoisted high on the nearest yardarm and left for the crows.....
  23. I guess like alot of things here it just depends on your prespective.
  24. What is your problem? It is obvious that I was in agreement with the statement...unless of course you have a guilty conscience.
