Maybe at one time Pulaski claimed it was 7,000 or they packed them in over the fire code. I don't know. But sad to see Anderson's gym close, I have been in there and enjoyed it. I have been in Richmond's and Muncie's gyms a few times each, out of the H.S. gyms in Indiana those two are at top of my list. Connersville was nice as well.

And that would be an officials issue. If the ref's feel the same way, they would tell the kids, coach, and school personnel to have them stay back more or get a T.

If this was a reply to my question, then the BOK should get the name of the kid and send him the bill.

I hit on this in an early post. I am not sure how many the old gym at the school held, but from what I was told is when re-building a school the state will only allow the seating to be as much as the old gym, if the district wants it to be more, they are the ones who will need to come up with the money, excluding tax money, to build it. A friend who lives near Columbus Ohio had his school rebuilt, everything was rebuilt but the gym, which looks to have been built in the 60's or early 70's. I was told Ohio would not let them build a new gym.

I think some are confusing the bleachers with actual seats. Think bleachers which almost all student sections stand on, but at the BOK they are a hard plastic instead of wood, so for some to say that the kids need to learn/ be taught common sense isn't really what should be vented. But, if a kid broke a railing, attempt to find out who it is, should be easy if someone at the BOK stopped him? Which this brings up an honest question, how sturdy are those railings?

First, off, if you think that it wasn't meant for you, then why the "step back'? Bad choice in the real world. LOL. And I know that you are a fan of NKY sports not just one team, but some others are using this opportunity in the way, IMO. Whoever told you that the BOK cancelled was wrong, it's that simple. :sssh:

The one that was previously mentioned in Texas is Alfred J. Loos Fieldhouse, built in 1965, so maybe it was there.

I have been in some of them, amazing! Imagine playing or coaching in these gyms, wow!

If you are going by the directory then those should be the max that the fire marshal has set, seating and standing combined. So I would say your posts have official numbers.

From what I am told the KHSAA directory goes by the limit that the fire marshal has set, which is how many people you can have legally.

The issue some schools now have is how will the gym be funded when re-building. As I think the state says they will only help fund a gym that is not larger than the current gym. I think Montgomery Co. was looking at a gym that holds more than 4,200 but the funding issue came up.

Agreed! Heck, Duke must have to replace their lower bleachers every half the way their students jump up and down on them. Maybe they have better bleachers, or they actually conduct proper maintenance.

Hey, here is an idea, lets just keep CCH out of the regional tourney? Happy? I am sure some will be thrilled with this idea! Just another attack on CCH and now the student section, the only reason, "we can't beat them, so lets whine about them". ANY good cheering section might cause some damage jumping up and down, but to say it's "destructive behavior" is claiming that they are doing the damage on purpose. One, have sturdy seats and bleachers, and repair any necessary damage as soon as possible. Bleachers won't last forever and as anything else, needs some TLC every now and then. As PaNDA has shown, even NKU's student section has stood on those bleachers. As I mentioned, I find it hard to believe that the BOK would break a contract for the regional tourney over a suggested issue during an even that had nothing to do with the regional tourney that they had the contract with. Also, if this is such an issue, why not send some of the NKU police officers over and have them stand in front of the student sections? I would like to see proof that the BOK is actually considering this. As I said, it would be horrible P.R. for them to break the "contract" of the regionals.

The officials at the BOK are ridiculous in many of their rules. Last time I was there there was this older gentleman that had an ankle injury and it was all wrapped up. He only wanted to rest his leg on the empty seat in front of him but was told twice to remove his leg from the seat back, the second time he was told if he does it again he will have to leave. If the BOK cancels their contract for the 9th region basketball, it won't be good for the BOK, and due to a game that has nothing to do with the 9th region tourney?

^InItTiWinIt, I agree with all you have said in this thread. BUT, as we all know, if CCH wasn't winning, wasn't a threat, no one will be discussing this, period! I agree, these are rumors, when someone has facts then I'll listen, but not when someone may be butt hurt because they can't stop a player or team. I don't care what could be said on the court, both teams have the objective to win! If someone is allowing the other team to get into their heads in game, they will have a lot bigger issues in life.

I'm just saying, if I had an issue with my sons coach I would talk to the coach, as I wouldn't see a coach seeing that as an attack, I would see it being straight up an honest. myself, I would do it this was for a few reasons, one being that is just the kind of person I am, second I would see it as the best move for my son.
