  1. Looks like this weekend is going to be cold. I may need a little help choosing between cardigans or sweater vests.
  2. Maybe it feeds something primal in our nature. For the majority of hunters I know, I can tell you without any reservation that it has nothing to do with accolades or "fame" among other hunters.
  3. By the way, I wore the white Nike's to the UK Blue/White scrimmage last night. I half expected somebody to come up and ask if I was Watusi.
  4. LOL, if there was, they wouldn't let me in BBF, or my old man mall walker shoes. :lol2:
  5. I thought of that, but... nah, it's just ugly. :bunny:
  6. For some, you are probably right, it may boil down to nothing more than that. Thankfully, I am not one of them. In all sincerity, if that is your limited understanding of hunting and hunters then you really don't have a grasp on it. I don't think I could adequately explain it, but I hope you will just accept that it is so much more of a personal thing than killing an animal and bragging to my buddies. It is a connection to the land, to God's creation, to the prey even. I do it for me, and the quiet times alone in the woods have done more good for me than a thousand hours of counseling would have. It brings me peace and satisfaction.
  7. People have all kinds of affinities, I don't understand a lot of them. To each his own.
  8. Some people like strawberries, some don't. Some people enjoy reading novels, others don't. Such is life, we are all different. I don't know that an affinity for hunting is going to be a dividing line. I love to hunt, but I wasn't born that way. My daddy didn't hunt, but when I was a teenager I took it upon myself to pursue it. I enjoy lots of things about it, not just the "killing" that comes at the end. Whether I am straight, gay or like to screw piglets has nothing to do with it. The two activities are mutually exclusive.
  9. I think you overvalue your contributions to this thread My feelings and thinking hasn't been challenged yet, but I have been entertained. You did post a long response but never answered my question earlier. Do you think the kid's emotions are genuine or was he faking excitement? It is a simple question. (regardless of how he has been influenced, or what his reasons are)
  10. Do you think the kid was genuinely happy? In other words, was it true emotion by him or was he pretending to be happy?
  11. Wouldn't ALL people in urban environments be less likely to be drawn to hunting than rural folks? I don't think it matters who they like to sleep with.
  12. Seriously, the video was awesome to see that young man's excitement at fulfilling his dream. I would feel the same way if it were a video of a kid hitting a winning shot, or meeting a sports hero, etc. Anything that makes a kid that happy, I have to smile.
  13. It may be the single most ugliest piece of clothing I ever saw. :lol2: Sorry BBF
  14. Brooks running shoes are high end. Good stuff
  15. Perhaps you should just chalk it up to things you don't understands and then try to accept it and not pick at it. We all have to do that from time to time, no?
  16. Can't disagree with much of your post, prepsbill65, but take note: Whatever the reasoning behind the number of teams making the playoffs are, it isn't $$ for the KHSAA because they don't benefit from it financially. The KHSAA doesn't get any money from the playoff games except the state championship games. The gate from the first 4 rounds are split between the participants, not the KHSAA.
  17. All the folks at the Bingo game liked them.
  18. No doubt PB&J. There was never any danger of me ditching them. I was hoping I could point to this thread and tell Mrs. 2C that she was wrong and my sense of style is A-OK. Since that ain't happening, I'll just go on my merry way with my acid wash Wranglers and mall walker shoes and she never needs to know about this discussion.
  19. So what you guys are basically telling me is that I must have jumped off the fashion train a few stops too soon?
  20. Brett Favre sold me on them. :thumb:
  21. Just plain old Wranglers. :idunno:
  22. Ain't it the truth. I like red as much as the next guy, but I really don't need any more red in my wardrobe. BTW, I really enjoyed meeting up with you Friday at the game. It was fun. :thumb:
