  1. And while I am at it, How come everyone has SK so low? From reading the T/SK game thread, you would think SK is better than X. I do not know much about SK, but from reading the thread they should be 2 or 3 on most lists. Doesn't make much sense, which is why I stated these polls are meaningless, before. They CAN get some good arguments going. Maybe that was the point.

  2. If you base it on Trinity game viewing, I would totally agree with you. Solid efforts against the teams they played. But I saw Elder dismantle Cincy St X- It was 33-0 with 4 minutes left. Without the 51 yard run, the Cincy St X offense had about 175 yards total offense with 3 sacks. Expect Radcliff to move back to DB next week full time.

Btw-X had 24 in the regular season last year and Deuce pulled up with cramps on another TD run to possibly give 31.

X had 28 plus the field goal giving possibly 31 in the state final.

Last three full regular season football games- X scored 36, 48, and 24 respectfully. There were some pretty good players on those teams too!

This is not last year. I would be surprised to see the Rocks give up 31.

  3. I agree with what you posted but had to respond to part I bolded. I could be very wrong but it is my understanding that public schools (Louisville) can't go and get donations/raise money to update facilities on a specific sport. If I remember correctly, a couple of years ago there was a person (that was in the construction business) that wanted to build a field house at Seneca. JCPS told them that they could give them the money and they would take care of it.

I did not know that. Sounds like an issue with JCPS and not the private schools. I would argue that is a disadvantage brought on by the JCPS administrators. Kind of ironic, but this discussion is leaning towards another forum so I will leave it at that.

  4. The question was, "Why is X/Rocks so much better than the other Kentucky teams?" The answer is, numbers.

I have a hard time believing that Trinity wins 18 state titles in DI Ohio...

I also have a hard time believing that there aren't other schools in the state of KY that have "Discipline, Pride, Loyalty and Achievement".

No, we are not the only school that has Discipline, Pride, Loyalty and Achievement. But I believe the way we approach these words is on a different level. We live by those words. The program is supported by the whole Rock community. Where do you think all of the money came from to update our facilities? Out of our back pocket. I was watching high school football on tv the other night and saw that Prattville AL ( I think) just updated their facilities with over a million dollars raised by the whole town. Find me a public school in KY raising that kind of money.

You just can't say " Oh , we have Discipline, Pride, Loyalty and Achievement and then start winning championships. It goes much deeper that that. It is a system that starts in grade school and continues through high school. And really, if you have not lived it as the T and X faithful have, it is very hard to describe or explain. Most of the time we come off sounding cocky, which is not our intention.

  5. Someone please explain this to me and why is it a big deal??

I understand why people would complain/make fun of a program if a kid is a junior playing JV and is also starter on the varsity. But if a junior that rarely gets PT in a varsity game why shouldn't he be able to play JV to better prepare him for future varsity games.

So what am I missing here? Why this such an issue?

If you haven't noticed, it is mostly an issue with the X faithful. ;)

  6. Why is this being played at St X ?

I am not trying to threadjack. A co-worker ( X alum) who is close to the progaram told me Ballard requested that the game be at X. Something about them having field issues? He said Ballard will be the home team. Sounds kind of strange and may not be true. That is what I heard.

  7. There is no way a Kentucky school can play with either one of these teams. Or a lot of other teams in Cincinnati for that matter. It's a whole different level of football.

Whatever. We have beaten Elder before and lost to X twice in the 4th qtr. We can play with those teams. Might not always win, but we can play with them.

    GO ROCKS!!!!!!!!

    :fight:

  8. Both you and Miragesmack are just looking at the Midwest portion of this poll which was referenced by Rockmom in the 2nd post in this thread. The actual poll which started the thread in the initial post by Biotech is the ESPN National Poll (he attached a link in the post), which does cover teams from all states including the biggies of Texas, Florida, and California.

    1st: Congrats on your ranking.

2nd: Midwest or National : still another meaningless high school preseason poll.

I am ready for things to be settled on the field, but I guess there isn't much to talk about till the 1st kickoff.

    Let the games begin.

  9. I love all the repsect for the local teams, but I'm not sure I can take these polls seriously. When you don't have any TX or FL teams in the top 25, you have to wonder, considering all the D1 athletes they produce.

Also, have any KY teams EVER beaten a big Cincy team lately? I know there have been close calls, but I'm not a huge fan of moral victories. I know X had beaten Moeller back in the day, but you never hear about them anymore.

It just seems to me that Ohio schools have always been, and may always be, head and shoulders ahead of KY teams.

Well, the poll that started this thread is a Midwest poll. That is why you see no TX of FL schools.

As far as OH goes, who cares? We play for the KY state championship, not the OH state championship. I mean no disrespect, but alot of people get wrapped up on this website about OH.
