  1. With all of the bad blood the last couple years, the disappointment of the injured QB and loss of the State Championship as well as the Rain shortened ¼ Game awarded to Trinity.

Do you think it helps the ROCKS to be labeled as the Number ONE Team in the State of Kentucky ahead of an undefeated Team that already beat you in the regular season?

I believe X has enough motivation, the potential for Coach’s 1st undefeated season, a potential top 10 National Ranking at the end of the season, etc.. I sure wouldn’t want my opponent hanging things like this up the week before a game.

.6 ?:eek::eek: Come on, you guys are nationally ranked.:sleep:

  2. Thanks for the surperlatives, yet I'm not seeing the X posters claiming anything but a close game... In all do respect, the Tiger posters are giving great respect to the Trinity program, rightfull so. Why do the Rock faithful have to play the poor me, we arn't any good senerio???? Everyone know it will be a very tough, hard fought, highly contested game. May the best team win..... After 2005, I think we will be prepared to play a sound game for 48 minutes.....

I NEVER said we were not any good. But the fact is the Rocks do not match up well with the 12th ranked in the country, "BEST DEFENSE IN THE STATE" St. X Tigers. I agree with some of the other T fans. No way we can win this game.

  3. Guys - Lets talk reality here. A lot of folks thought X had the team in 2005. The regular season resulted in a beating put on the Rocks. In the State game, the Rocks returned the favor. So, it does not matter who you "think" is the better team at this point. The game must be played and each team has equal chance to win. So trying to say that the Rocks are a 35 point underdog is crazy. If your conceeding the State Title Game for what you think might happen, better start convincing Beaty and Co. not to show up on Saturday night. I just have a strong idea that the Rock football team will show up..... It was a nice try though....

I am just going by jimmyref and his stats. I hope we can get more than 1 or 2 first downs. Stein will be lucky to get more than 20 yards on the "BEST DEFENSE IN THE STATE".

  4. I am on the outside looking in at these threads.........Trinity posters have done nothing but tarnish the glory and bragging rights within the BGP's football that they have rightfully earned.

So, go ahead and let me have. Tell me why I am wrong.

Tell me what you are talking about. You are going to have to be more specific to make a statement like that. Looks like the Trinity nation has once again been condemned because the opinions of a FEW Rock fans did not sit well with some folks.

    GO ROCKS!!!!!!!!

  5. Boone threw the ball 32 times? WOW this shocks me! I also would like the story on the bounty on T player i have never liked thompson one bit! and i will be rooting for X because 85% of rocks fans are too arrogant for me!

You must not know too many Rock fans. Boone played a good game. Congratulations on a great season.

  6. I dont really want to carry on about a team' date=' that hasn't even broke out their passing attack yet. I feel that Trinity is overlooking Boone, thinking about the following week.[/quote']

You might see some Rock fans overlooking Boone on this board, but the team will be focused on the game at hand. Many people on BGP often "assume" the comments of 5 or 10 Trinity fans on this board represent the opinions of the whole Trinity family and team. This is very misguided. The boys will be ready.

  7. It's really funny how things change halfway through a season. Entering 2007, Trinity returned a plethora of all-stars and was deemed the prohibitive favorite to walk away with the initial 6A title per the Rock fans and all the polls. But then came the oops, 24-15, and now it is St. X. who "needs" to win.

Maybe that is a good reason to actually PLAY the game. A few fans on BGP (not fair to quote all the Rock fans) and the media say Trinity is favorite at the beginning of the season. Ask U of L about the importance of preseason puffery. I don't know about "needing" to win for X, but a loss to Trinity in the final would be a sizable shot in the X armor. What would you do with all the brooms? :fire:

  8. Any program with 17 titles (with space for #18) and 4 out of the last 5 has to be favored to win it all. Lets face it, they do not get eliminated from this tournament very often...... They are playing as well as anyone at this time, Stein is developing as a QB as well as any Rock has in his first year... Its Trinity's to lose, because they own it.....

Good try. X is #1 in the rankings and is nationally ranked. X beat Trinity in the regular season. Logical thinking says X should be the favorite. Sorry Tiger fans, we get the underdog role this year.

  9. I hope the team isn't looking at it as a "warmup." Ballard has three very good offensive threats in Weakley, Perkins and Pryor. They have some tall, athletic receivers, too, if I'm not mistaken. Trinity's defense needs to step up and not give them a chance to break loose. Do not look ahead to Henry Clay! Ballard does not like Trinity and will be primed for the upset. T needs to answer and exceed their intensity.

I would not be worried. We don't care that much for Ballard either. We will be ready for this game. The question mark is Ballard. We hear every year that "things we be different", yet it does not turn out that way.

    1.Bruins don't show up= blowout.

2.Bruins show up= closer game that the Rocks still win.

  10. Wasn't that Brohm's senior season,ranked #3 in the nation preseason?

I believe it was the Tenn.reighning state champ,MBA if memory serves, another came by way of Cincy ST.X or Collerain, can't remeber which. But beating the undefeated #1 team in the state was no upset. In fact I do remember most of the BGP loyals calling that one,and the first three losses for that matter.

Not an upset? To one of the best teams X has ever had? (their words, not mine) All we heard after the game was that X was still the "better team". That game was a HUGE upset, thank you.

  11. Of all the teams on Trinity's schedule, Eastern is the most disliked (mainly due to their Principal). Despite the improvement in talent, the Eagles will be no match for the all-all-star Rocks, and they will be shown no mercy. Beatty may still have the starters playing with the score 71-0 and 2 minutes to go in the ballgame. This one will be UGLY! :scared:

Have to agree with you Ox, Eastern is at the top of the list. I bet Beatty will try to make this as ugly as possible. Lucky for Eastern that we play X next week. The starters will come out earlier than would be if our following opponent was not X.

  12. These two teams (LexCath and Scott Co.) are good programs but in no way are they on in the class of X from Cinn. The Rocks have much work to do before we get to that game including win two games. Trinity was better last night then the week before so we are making good strides.

I agree. I went last night and I missed the Scott Co. game. We looked good in some areas and need work on some things too. Beatty's teams get better as the year goes on. Need to think about BG 1st.
