  1. The rocks are underrated. They are a better team right now than they were in week five last year. If there are twelve teams better than them in the country this is a stellar year. I have been watching high school football for several decades now and have not seen twelve teams better than where Trinity is today in all of that time. I am not talking just Kentucky. I am talking throughout the country.

Trinity vs. Colerain's state champs from several years back would be my dream matchup right now. Probably two of the five best teams I have seen in person. Ever.

Thanks for the accolades. I am looking forward to seeing the Rocks for the 1st time this year on Friday. Seems to be much debate on how the team will fare this year. Some say no one is within 3 or 4 tds of T, Avidtiger seems to believe we don't have a chance against Lou St X. I visit Yappi from time to time and and see things like:

"I think X will beat them at their place just like they did 2 yrs ago and in 2007 when their all world team came to X for a spanking something like 49-21. Dawkins their RB doesn't impress me I think X shuts him down again.

Wright does impress me but he is going to have fewer options than Quick, not as good of a line and will be throwing into an experienced X defensive secondary. Defensively I am not convinced Trinity will be as good as last year and X will have 5 players capable of taking it to the house at any given time.X 21-14"

So now we have lost to both X schools and the I haven't even mentioned what the Moeller people think. Granted I got over the Yappi arrogance long ago, but it is interesting reading. I must say you are brave comparing us to the Colerain team. I have seen that done before and the anger from the OH fans was insane. According to them , that team should have played for the BCS championship that year.

So some say we are good, some say the opposite. Should be fun watching it unfold. :thumb:

  2. Not mad at all. i simply made a comment off info from what i heard. Thanks for the updated info though. But i've talked to X players who went to the green/white and they said it looks very different from last year, thats all i was saying.

What did they say looks different? I wasn't there. I don't put much into a scrimmage with players from the same team. Did they say our offense wasn't any good or both the offense and defense? Be more specific. It sounds like you have all the info. You can tell us how bad we are. It won't offend us. Please share.

  3. Well I just received more info ( So don't get mad at me Avidtiger, i am just the messenger) Wright had time to throw. Dawkins did really well. The O line did well but inconsistent. PurplePride is correct. it is hard to judge our offense based on our defense (which is really good). If you want to call that counting eggs, so be it.

  4. Hoping? I think you're getting ahead of yourself and counting your eggs before they hatch. And i didn't ask anything aobut T's defense i asked could a T fan reaffirm or disprove my statement.

I am not counting on anything. I just relayed to you what was texted to me from the game. Nothing was mentioned about the demise of our offense which seems to be the preseason talk about this T team. Sorry I could not enlighten you.

  5. Funny no one was reporting live from the green/white as i will be tomorrow from the green/gold. But in other news im hearing Travis isn't having no time to throw the ball in comparison to last year. can anyone from T reaffirm or tell me otherwise. Thanks

Maybe we aren't as excited about an intra squad scrimmage as you. What i have heard is our 1st team defense is scary good and that our 2nd team defense would be te starters for most teams. Usually takes longer for our offense to mature, I don't think any Rock fans are panicking yet but you can keep hoping.

  6. I heard a rumor - don't know if true - that the Oregon Ducks are on James Quick's short list of where he may go to college (U of L is also on the list). Does this rumor have any legs?

WDRB aired an interview with James on Wednesday night. A couple of weeks ago Oregon was at the top of his list. He likes the spread. But OR is far away. He said that the Cards are now at top of the list. Who knows what next week will bring. Time will tell.......

  7. St X is just 2 years removed from blasting Trinity a combined 66-17 in 2 games. Glazer and St X are just fine. Trinity is just on a run with a group of players the past 2-3 years that is unprecendented even for Trinity or X.

Lets see: 2001,2002,2003,2005,2006,2007,2008,2010,2011. Yep, everything is fine with me :thumb:

  8. The Rocks won the 6A football title and the Sweet 16. I am told their baseball team is young and a little thin on pitching and from my perspective that is a good thing. If T were to win the state baseball title I think there would be a strong push to "do something" about Trinity.

    Agree? Disagree? Thoughts?

Do what? Yep, gotta penalize a school for being successful. They win alot so they must cheat. All this is really getting old. No way Trinity goes prep, so I would get used to us or step up your programs. To all of you who know so much, report it to the authorities.

  9. I sat behind Trinity bench and was impressed by the "look test". When Szabo came to Trinity I vividly remember him saying "With these 1,200 boys we should be better.." Well Trinity is now very good but some things are very different and it won't help us win a private/public debate.

I thought the, "Mortgage chant" when the Shelbyville kid was shooting free throws was amusing coming from Ballard fan base.

Won't ever win the public/private debate and I don't know why you really care. I don't :ylsuper:

  10. As I said in another thread, a lot of people thought T would fall off after Brian Brohm left. That has not happened. Going forward, as long as Coach Beatty and Coach Lampley are running the show, there is no reason to think that Trinity's run will not continue. "Go Rocks"

I agree. I have heard we have some talent coming that will be as good or better than what we have now, but that is purely rumor. Seems to be a no brainer: Play in a wide open offense or go run off tackle all day, night, year, decade. :p

    Time will tell.

  11. Well I am a football guy by far and don't pay much attention to b-ball. Hopped on here to see what the deal was after reading the paper. After watching the video, it is clear. Refs gave the game Madison Central. No big surprise although I thought we only got jacked in football. I was wrong. Hopefully we won't see any of that nonsense in Rupp, but I won't count on it.

  12. THe KHSAA website's media guide for the finals states that the 6A game we be re-broadcast tomorrow on Wave Insight digital channel

    431. I have HD, digital and all that stuff, yet I do not have channel 431. I called Insight yesterday and they acted like 431 does not exist and I didn't have time to play with them. Anybody have channel 431 or know what channel the game will be on in Louisville? Thanks.

  13. I am confident that Trinity will be very keyed up and ready to play. Beatty IMO is a very good big game coach.

A dad of one of the T players has been telling me for weeks that there has been some smack talk coming from Scott Co here lately. He told me the players and coaches are both aware of it. There will be no sneaking up on the Rocks this weekend.
