  1. Hmm, well if you consider Dixie's scheduling philosophy like that of an SEC team like, oh I don't know. ..ALABAMA, I guess I'll take my chances with them.. These boys are the hungry, the program has endured living with the stigma of being the redheaded stepchild in the NKAC seeing the Beechwoods, Cov. Cath's and Highlands win title after title and this is their 1st Title game. This state title game is 70 some odd years in coming and these boys and these coaches know it. Not saying they'll win but I think Trinity is going to have one of the toughest games they've had in awhile on Saturday. .GO COLONELS!!

Toughest game is awhile? I think you have it backwards. The Rocks played a brutal schedule with injuries through the whole season, until the playoffs. 2 overtime games with Male. Trinity has been to war this season. Dixie has not. Being hungry does not win titles.

  2. Wow! just read through thread and I've got to say, surprising the disdain people have for T. I feel your pain T fans. Lol! With that said, I have to go with Trinity in this one. I think Trinity's schedule has helped them more to win a game like this. Some in NKY think that's a bunch of bull, but I don't.

There is no pain tdyballgame. Our success breeds the disdain/hate whatever you want to call it People read arrogance into our conversations about T football when none is intended. We are quite used to it

  3. Actually I don't think the majority of the people across the commonwealth care just because it's Coach Beatty. I do think people think whoever acts like that as a coach and person in a position of influence and authority as a bad example and a little bit immature. Insert whoevers name you want after the word coach, it would be viewed the same. Beatty doesn't carry enough weight with the majority of the people of this state to even care about who he is.

Like I said, it doesn't even have to be him that said what was said after the game, any coach in the state would be looked on the same and that is of a little baby if they had said the same. So in my eyes, both coaches responsible are both big babies.

......And I bet that both coaches don't give 2 squats what you or anyone else on here thinks.....

  4. Yes it matters a lot a sloppy wet track would favor Male and the running game with their size advantage on both lines. A dry fast field would favor T's style of play!

I will take Male running the ball over Male throwing the ball. Defense wins games and our run defense is better than our pass defense.

  5. Eh...probably a little butt hurt about having to slink back away from the big boys after being exposed. They threw their power around and avoided Male, Manual, and St X. After being exposed as frauds out of state it makes sense.

    "Big boys" ???

    "Exposed" ???

    "Avoided" ???

    "Frauds" ???

Yea, you are right on the money......

  6. I believe you are incorrect regarding number of Panthers playing both ways. Alabama is recruiting their Jr tight end. Maryland has a verbal commitment from their best WR. I believe a DE was offered by FSU recently. They were ranked #5 in AAA PA, which is the second highest class. Anyway you slice it, they are as talented as any Kentucky team. 30 unanswered points is a very positive sign.

I think it said in the paper that U of L's rb coach was attending to watch 3 or 4 Imotep players.

  7. Ensworth was up 34 at halftime. Ok. Doesn't Trinity return nine starters on a defense that held Ensworth to 28 for a whole game last season! Or was it that Ensworth's defense was so good that they scored a few defensive TDs? I think this will be a good game depending on how good Trinity's offense does.

I myself have been wondering why many on this thread think the Rocks are some huge underdog. Trinity may very well lose. However, I was at the game last year and we were a dropped pass from winning the game. Bonnafon was out of the game at the end and not 1 senior on defense. Should be a good game.

  8. Is it just me or with T be playing several guys at key positions with very little experience? If the comment above is accurate about the V being more like a JV team, shouldn't those guys have played a ton last year?

I think you misunderstood what I said above. Last year we had a very young team that played a very tough schedule. So this year we have MANY players who saw significant playing time returning plus a lot of talented young players. I think some losses last year will be avenged. I would bet Beatty is really looking forward to this season

  9. WDRB had a report on Trintity a few weeks back. I wasn't watching that closely, but I think they said 18 or 19. Don't know if they meant starters or players that saw time on the field. Last year we basically fielded a JV team ( except for a few like Bonnafon) that played a varsity schedule. Hoping for some big improvement this year.

  10. Trinity folks what game was it against Bob Redman's Waggoner team in the 80s that I have heard so much about? I know I have heard the story but can't remember the details.

I think I was at the game you mention. Rocks won on a last second field goal. If memory serves me correct, the yardage of the field goal matched the jersey number of a Trinity player who passed away either that year or the year before. I think it was 1983?????

  11. Why is that a team just can't say, "thanks, but no thanks". I would be willing to bet that some of this true, but maybe some Cincy schools want to play some else other than Trinity from KY. Mix it up a bit, keep things fresh.

Maybe I'm just too rational, but just because a school decides not to play T or any other good team does not mean they are "scared" to lose or play them.

The Cincy teams never had a problem playing us when they were beating us into the ground. Now that we have had the better of them lately, they don't want to play anymore. Rationalize that.

  12. Not trying to be smart here, but if you do not want to play a Kentucky schedule, why stay in the KHSAA?

Personally, leaving the KHSAA (which is probably not possible anyway) would not bother me a bit. I love our schedule. All Tell is correct. KY teams will not play us so we look elsewhere. So be it.
