I hope somebody out there can help me with his name, but the big reddish curly haired kid on the 2003 team that got hurt, got hurt in that Chris Lofton led Mason County game, and St. Henry might’ve won if he hadn’t gotten hurt. Late in the game there was a terrible missed obvious travelling call on Mason County that also could’ve turned things the Cru’s way.

The Greenwood Gators jumped out quick in this one, and never looked back, but things are going to be easy for them when they face Bowling Green in the 4th Region Finals.

Though Knox Central had a real close battle with Harlan County in the WYMT Mountain Classic back in the Finals the first week of February where they won only by 4, this time around Harlan County didn’t pose much of a threat to the Knox Central Panthers. Knox Central will move on to face Clay County in the semi’s.

Henry County got a bit of an edge early, but North Oldham erased that by the Half leading by 5, and again by 5 at the end of 3. Henry County got within 1 in the 4th period when it was 51-50, and things stayed pretty close down the stretch until North Oldham pulled it out. North Oldham will move on to face Simon Kenton in the semi's.

This game was a very close one most of the way with Belfry pulling away late.

Simon Kenton jumped out early holding mostly a 10 point lead most of the way. They at one point got it up to 14, and late Anderson manged to briefly cut it to about 7, but the Pioneers responded to put it out of reach. Simon Kenton will move on to face North Oldham in the semi's.

Paintsville put on a 3 ball clinic to start the game hitting something like 7 of 'em in the 1st quarter and cruised the rest of the way from there. They'll face Belfry in the semi's with the 7'3' Bol Kuir, but Paintsville I believe will still win that one without too much trouble. Paintsville will move on to face Belfry in the semi's.

Clay County was lucky to have pulled this one out. It seems like they were stuck on 33 forever as South Laurel was creeping back from being down by about 10. Neither team was rocking the world really, but the Tigers made their foul shots down the stretch to close it out. Clay County will move on to face Knox Central in the Semi's.

Not discrediting Newport or Ryle, just stating what 99.9% of people other than you, know for certain that CovCath is without doubt incredibly much better than those teams. You and I both know that you know this as well, you’re not fooling anyone now matter how you’re trying to spin it, or trying to discredit me in the process. People see through it. You and I both know too that even though Dixie has proved themselves to be a legit Top 5 team in the region, because you initially doubted this, you’re not willing to rethink it, or admit it, so previous to the regional tournament you flippantly referred to them as Top 8 as if all team were on equal status, which we all know just isn’t the case. Can great underdog stories happen come tourney time? Sure thing. Can a team like CovCath go down twice in a season that no one believed that they’d be even beaten once within the region? Yes they did to another very good team, but who's kidding who here to make us believe that you believe that hypothetically with CovCath playing either Newport or Ryle that “you just never know”, or that you don’t see that there’s a pretty definite drop off in strength between certain teams within this year’s regional tournament? Oh but you're the high road guy, and I discredited Newport and Ryle, right? People see right through that BigRob.

This game began with “good one” written all over it, and for the most part it was. At the end of 1 it was all tied at 16 The Cougars began to pull away in the 2nd quarter ending it up 12, 42-30. In the 3rd Holy Cross went on a nice run to erase the 12 point lead, and after 3 it was all tied again at 51. In the 4th Conner jumped out again with a bit of breathing room, but the Indians managed to get it back to within 2 before the Cougars pulled away again only to have the Indians again get it to within 2 with about 10 seconds to go, but free throws in the end helped Conner close out the game. So you’re saying that if CovCath had played either Newport or Ryle. throw the books out because you just never know? Each and every team entering the Regional tournament in your mind were on an even playing field?

So none of the teams in your book previous to tonight's games would get a Top 4 billing?

The Newport Wildcats came out of the gate with a gameplan to slow the game up knowing that they didn’t want to get into a track meet with the Dixie Colonels. That only worked for a short while before it all fell apart for them. At the end of 1 Dixie was up 13-7 Halftime Dixie 34-13 After 3 Dixie 56 -27 Final Dixie 73 Newport 43

The Raiders took a relentless beating by the Bluebirds with multiple 3’s, Sam had about 5 dunks, a running clock most of the 2nd half…you get the idea... At the end of 1 30-13 Halftime 64-31 After 3 90-43 Final Highlands 104 Ryle 62 The Birds move on to the Semi’s to play the winner of CovCath and St. Henry.
