Hillbilly He-Man

Mercer has lost ten games. They’re no juggernaut. Wayne has wins over some of the better teams in the region. (Boyle, Southwestern, West Jessamine) Lost a close one to Pulaski,and were robbed of the opportunities to play Lincoln and Dca at the end of the year. When the ball is tipped, all the off court stuff makes no difference. The pressure will be all on Mercer. The Cards will play loose, and they always play hard. Having arguably the best shooter in the region in Kendal Phillips doesn’t hurt either. Wayne County has just as good a shot as anybody else outside of Dca to make a run!!

Clinton County is a pretty good basketball team. I wouldn’t be surprised if they make a run.

There is a back story. There’s no justification for what the guy did, but that lady has been banned from every gymnasium in Pulaski County, and now probably won’t be allowed in Wayne’s either. She was trash talking with some teenage girls from Wayne. She’s no saint either. Very poor judgement and behavior on both sides.

Southwestern shouldn’t have two players on this team……

I originally picked Somerset Christian, but that was before I realized District was at Wayne this year. They have one of the best home court advantages in the 12th region. Their fans tend to be quite rowdy. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Cardinals get revenge over the Warriors and earn the #2 seed in the 48th district tourney. Cards will play Somerset Christian in the opening round. Southwestern will match up with Mccreary Central. Thoughts? Predictions? Let’s hear them.

That could very well happen. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a more balanced district. SCS was down a starter last night and still beat the warriors handily. The Baker kid shoots 50% from behind the line. That opens up their offense a lot. If they are healthy and continue to shoot the ball well, I think they cut the nets down and make history in the 48th.

Cougars controlled throughout. They’re becoming the most fun team to watch in the 12th region. Great mix of skill and athleticism. IMO they are now the favorite in the 48th district.

I’d love to see Bartley and Lonesky on the floor at the same time for the jumpers.

Not surprised by this. Sawyer Thompson is Rodney Woods grandson. I’d say he’s had some excellent guidance to go along with his ability.

SW looked bigger, faster, stronger at every position except maybe one.
