  1. Ryle started first offensive and defensive series w/out Verax, Savage, and Lyons and it showed. Sloppy game by Ryle. Too many penalties with the 35 refs out there.
  2. Should be a great game. Highlands has dominated the scrimmages over the past few years. Ryle won last year’s regular season game in OT. I think these 2 teams are evenly matched. I’ll take Ryle by 7 tomorrow.
  3. Ryle did not have their starters on the Pabst long TD play. He was being guarded by a 3rd string player. Also, Bo Gay clearly tagged the QB before he threw that ball. Should have been dead. On the flip side, Verax threw a wide open TD they blew dead I guess for a 5 second count?? Not sure what happened there. I don’t think Ryle looked great at all. Plenty to clean up but just providing context to conversation. To your point, Ryle scored all their points w/out Fryman. Beechwood scored all their points w/ out Ryle’s starting LB and Safety. But when Ryle “starting O and D” were on the field it was 27-0. The final quarter was 17-0. More importantly to the discussion, Ryle could have pounding Savage and Anness all day and there would have been very little Beechwood could have done about it. Too big and strong. Add Verax to Lee combo and Verax’s running ability. It would get ugly fast. Ryle also forced 2 turnovers, one pick that would have lead to more points but due to 10 play format, ball went back to beechwood. Running clock game.
  4. Correct. Savage played very well tonight.
  5. Almost, but you missed a key point. Ryle was missing starters too so technically Ryle won 27-0 w/out all their starters vs Beechwood minus Fryman. Let’s be real, that’s most likely a lopsided running clock game w/ all the starters. I appreciate your love for your team but Ryle has way too much size and too many weapons for this year’s Beechwood team. As great as Fryman is, and he’s one of the best, he’s about 0-10 vs that team dating back to youth. I didn’t see anything today to make me think this year would be any different.
  6. Huh? Just providing some insight. Not sure if Beechwood had all their starters in when Ryle did because I don’t know their team. Just stating facts. When Ryle had starters in on O and D they won 27-0. Beechwood looked good. Definitely not as good as last year but with the addition of Fryman should hava a good shot at another chip.
  7. Both teams had key players out. When Ryle “starters” were on the field, I had the score 27-0. I’m sure Fryman would have made a big difference but so would Verax running the ball, which he couldn’t do tonight. Good luck to Beechwood. I’m sure they’ll do their thing in 2A this year.
  8. Yes, that was the 2nd game. A lot of backups playing most of that game. Ryle apparently was the only team to beat them. Zilla was loaded w/ talent. QB had an incredible arm.
  9. They played twice in pool play. Ryle won the first game by a TD and lost the second w/out a couple starters.
  10. Heard Ryle beat Cooper, SK, and Lloyd and tied Boone playing mostly backups. From what I heard, SK still has a lot of work to do if they're going to win every game this year.
  11. Ryle picked up transfer SR RB/LB Dameyn Anness of Ludlow. Having both Savage and Anness as RB’s will be fun to watch. I suspect he’ll also be used elsewhere on offense. Based on his Hudl, looks like he also can play multiple positions on defense. Ryle has 2 Sr linebackers in Savage and Workman. Anness certainly has the size to play LB but can see him being used more as a Safety for Ryle. Big loss for Ludlow but Anness will be a plug-in-play star at Ryle.
  12. Heard WR Weaver has transferred to Anderson, OH. If true, that's a big loss for the Pioneers!
  13. Ryle QB Nate Verax is getting it done in the 100 Meter!
  14. Wynn Jr would be my guess. Junior Cole Welter played well last year for JV but he's also a great WR option. Current UofL DE Dillon Smith's little brother is the Frosh QB. He'll be one to keep an eye on.
  15. Great young player for the Raiders. Has experience playing QB and RB on offense and LB on defense. I can see him get some work in at TE and DE this year on varsity and be in the mix as backup QB. I suspect he'll get a lot of playing time this season, especially if Ryle starts their running clock train going again.
  16. My pick is IU. Great fit for his game. Would love to see him at UofL, though.
  17. Jacob will be announcing his decision this Friday, April 25th at Ryle HS.
  18. Dylan Lee picked up his 2nd offer from Colgate today.
  19. A few Ryle kids left off. Dylan Lee- 6'1" 2-way starter at WR and DB. Has one D1 offer already. One of the fastest kids in the state. Big playmaker on both sides of the ball and on special teams. Locked down most of the top NKY WR's last season. Gavin Lyons- Another 2-way starter as a Soph and JR. Mr. Everything guy. Dealt with multiple injuries as a JR, but can play anywhere needed. Great run stopping DB that is also a ball hawk. On offense, can play in the slot, RB, or WR. Bo Gay-6'4" (and still growing), 215 lb. DE/TE. Actually lead Ryle in sacks opposite of Dillon Smith. Great size, speed, and skill to play D1. Eli Caldwell-6'4" 290 lb. OT. Played exceptionally well versus very good competition last season. Huge frame and getting bigger.
  20. JR WR/DB Dylan Lee picked up first offer from UPenn yesterday.
