I was lucky enough to watch all three of these games . South vs Ballard was a great game. You could tell in the second half that Ballard didn’t have any legs after their battle vs St X 18 hours earlier but the Dragons came to play. Colton W looked like he looked in the state tourney last year. I heard a kid behind me say “he is back”. North Oldham vs Seneca- the craziest game of the day. It was a tough physical game that Seneca rallied to come back. The last play of the game was hard to understand what happen I wish it was on video somewhere. I will try by best to describe. Seneca hit a layup with 8sec to cut it to 2. North player picks up the ball and looks to be taking his time getting out of bounds to waste seconds off the clock. Once he gets out of bounds he pitches the ball to the other official. The ball hits the official but he doesn’t catch it because he is counting the 5 seconds. The player from North runs and grabs the ball that looks like it was bouncing on or near the line. The player from North gets the ball and looks to step over the line and throws the ball in then as soon as a teammate catches the ball the horn goes off and then it’s GAME OVER. It was so wild it looked like the whole sequence stunned the official under the bucket . I felt like it could have been a 5 second violation or an over the line violation but it happened so fast I am not sure what should have been called. It was wild. A really fun game to watch. Oldham County vs Fern Creek- Freshman, Ty Bryant put on a show of going for 36pt 15reb. Fern Creek is not very good but it was still a good win for the Colonels.

I watched every second of this game and it was an impressive showing. They are undersized but they competed on every play. Offensively they move the ball better than any team I have watched all season. Colton W got hot in the second half. Even though Ballard was emotional drained after the St X game it was still an unbelievable showing by the Dragons.

I agree with this. I think Jake is a great player but he is product of this generation of watching their nba heroes flop around. Jake is 6’7 and 200 plus lbs there is no way kids can knock him to the floor as much as he falls. Stay on your feet big fellow and dominate.

Any win in the 7th region is a good win and this is a great win for Seneca but without Jordan and Trey, Male is a very average team.

I wouldn’t disagree with anything you said. The good thing is the Oldham plays Walton, Anderson and Collins in the coming weeks. They can prove to everyone they are a top 8 team with those three games !

With all of the cancellations last week there were many teams that didn’t play but the ones who did play OH MY GOODNESS. We had some big time fireworks over the last few days. First of all, North Oldham absolutely dominated South Oldham. Was it a bad shooting night for South? Is North Oldham that good? I think both can be true. North Oldham has beaten both of their county rivals by 30 plus which I am not sure that has ever been done by a North Oldham team… Still a lot of season left but since day 1 they have been the best team in the region and it has looked like a 1 team race all season. However, on Saturday Woodford County got everyones attention in the region and the entire state when they took down the number 1 team in the state, Madison Central. Mr Jointer put on a show to let everyone know his Yellowjackets are for real. They did fall the next day to St X but there was no way they were going to beat the best 2 teams in the state in back to back days. That is asking a lot for a team to come off an emotional high to do it again 24 hours later. This has gotten me more excited for the post season, looks like we will have at least 1 team in the region that can compete with North Oldham. The rankings this week didn’t change at all. Some teams didn’t even play but the ones who did have regions game the higher ranked team won. I didn’t feel there was any reason to change up the rankings. 1. North Oldham (14-5) They were very impressive vs South Oldham and made a statement once again. This week they play 3 solid teams vs Spencer County, Walton-Verona, and Seneca. 2. Woodford County (11-6) The Yellowjackets shocked the state with their win over Madison Central. Do they have another giant killing game vs North Oldham in the regional? I just hope the game happens because it will be a great one. 3. Spencer County (14-7) The Bearcats beat Louisville Collegiate and LaRue County this past weekend. The LaRue win is an impressive one since their leading scorer didn’t play. I hope he is not seriously hurt, hopefully it is something minor. 4. South Oldham (13-7) The best thing for this group to do is to forget about the North Oldham game and move on. There is a lot of season left and they are a really good team. Regroup and keep shooting those threes.. Just don’t go 3/30 anymore !!! 5. Simon Kenton (11-7) Simon didn’t play last week. They will get back on the court this week vs two good NKY teams in Ryle and Campbell County. 6. Henry County (11-9) Coach Tingles group is pumped about the last month of the season. They are ready to go on a big winning streak heading into the tourney. This week they have Owen County, Gallatin County and Sayre. 7. Grant County (10-9) The Braves had a tough shooting game vs Dixie Heights and fell 55 to 42. They are back in action this week vs Walton Verona on Tuesday which will be a great game to watch. They also take on Scott later in the week. 8. Anderson County (17-4) Two wins are coming up this week to get them on the doorstep of a 20 win season. Will their weaker schedule prepare them for tourney time or will it hurt them? It will be interesting to see. 9. Walton Verona (13-8) The boys from Walton represented the 8th in the ALL A Classic and did a great job doing it. They fell to a really good Caverna team. There is no time to rest though because they have a huge game tomorrow at Grant County. 10. Collins (7-12) The Titans might have the toughest week of anyone in the entire state this week. They take on St X, CAL and Madison Central.. WOW! That is brutal. 11. Oldham County (10-11) Looks like the young Colonels schedule some last second opponents and got two wins this weekend vs Highlands Latin and John Hardin. Looks like they have this week off before playing Fern Creek on Saturday. 12. Owen County (9-8) This team would love nothing more to knock off Henry County on Tuesday. I don’t think they have enough firepower to do so but it will be interesting to see how close the game turns out being. They also play Eminence and Carroll County this week. 13. Shelby County (8-13) The Rockets gave the Titans a scare. This team is continuing to get better and better. This week they take on North Bullitt and Anderson County. 14. Eminence (13-7) They haven’t played since Jan 22. This week they take on Carroll County, Trimble County and Owen County. 15. Gallatin County (5-14) The Wildcats have a super busy week. They will playing 4 games vs Trimble County, Carroll County , Henry County and Berea. 16. Carroll County (10-9) The Panthers are back in action this week vs Eminence , Gallatin County and Owen County. 17. Trimble County (5-12) The Raiders picked up their 5th win of the season vs Shawe Memorial. This week they take on Gallatin County , Eminence and Williamstone. 18. Cornerstone Chr (3-11) Two games this week coming up vs Anderson County and Somerset Christian School. 19. Williamstown (0-20) Still looking for their first win of the season. This week they take on Dayton, Robertson County and Trimble County.

I guess “really good” could mean a lot of things. But I was really high on Henry County and I am still high on them. They have all their guys back and are clicking. I am not sure they could beat North Oldham , South Oldham or Woodford but this team will go down as one of the best Henry County teams in the history of the school. If they make it to the semis of the region it will be a great year for this group!

I forgot about him. He is the 7ft dude right ? 2 guys in the Big Ten from the 8th region is awesome.

I know of a lot of us who follow the 8th Region on stuck at home today. I thought it would be cool to see who is currently playing college ball that played in the 8th region. I will start but I am sure I will miss a lot of guys. 1. Max Green (Oldham County)- probably the biggest name on the list. Is currently playing for Northwestern and is avg about 5ppg. Playing in the Big Ten is impressive. 2. Aaron Gutman (Walton Verona)- He is at Evansville. I was told by some of his former teammates that he is red shirting this season. 3. Julian Miles (South Oldham)- He is at The Cumberlands. They are a really good NAIA team. Last I heard he wasn't getting much playing time which is common for this day and age for freshman dealing with transfers in front of them. 4. Luke Anderson (North Oldham)- He is at Bellermine. can't find much info on him for this season as far as stats. So he might be hurt. 5. Grant Neal (North Oldham)- He is at Bellermine as well. hasn't gotten a ton of minutes. 6. Amelo Boone (Woodford County)- Playing for Western KY. Second on the team in scoring avg 12ppg. He is putting together a great college career. WHO AM I MISSING?????

Pretty similar....... I just know that all of Region 8 is praying that Region 9 takes Simon Kenton lol. Everyone will be playing for second place for a while.
