My final view point on this Moore vs Johnson argument: Jasper Johnson is 100% the better basketball player. He is currently, will be his junior year, and his senior year. He will also be light years better at the college level. Moore is more "dominant" yes, but we have to look at plenty of factors when we observe this. Stats, this is Moore fans best argument. It is with good reasoning as he has some ridiculous stats. However, there are many components that go into this. Owen County is in the worst district in the region, and there are 6 teams in the district. Each team plays one another twice in the regular season, so that is 10 games of their schedule right there. They also play in the All 'A' Tournament which is against small schools who do not have the level of talent needed to play against him. I think that if you put Jasper Johnson in the 31st District he averages right around 30 ppg as well. Moore also has plays and such ran for him every single time down the court. The only way anyone else on his team scores is if he's triple teamed and they are wide open. I will say, Teagan Moore looked better last night, but that was from having to do more. When Johnson was giving opportunities, he looked far more impressive. However, they didn't come as often as they should. One other thing to note, Woodford County is loaded with athletes. 4 D1 athletes on the court at the same time, so they will spread the scoring around a bit. I also do not personally think they are very well coached, and their coach does not do a very good job of getting him the ball. If he got the ball as much as Moore did his stats would be just the same if not better. They also play a lot harder schedule than Owen County does. This means they are playing better athletes, better coaches, and better teams in general. These games normally tend to be somewhat sloppy (take Grant County and North Oldham last night for example), and scoring is normally lower. None of this is taking away from Moore. He is a GREAT player, one of the best in the state. I wish him well at WKU, what a career!

I still think it will be Collins, but maybe by closer than their matchup earlier this season.

Tough one for me.. I think it all comes down to the healthiness of Amburgey. My heart tells me OC but my brain tells me SK. Not sure which one to trust.

If I recall correctly someone stated that they had 10 turnovers. That is not a lot, and surely not enough to cost a team a game.

I agree, he wasn't a very big factor in the district championship either. I believe he has received some smaller college offers, which was somewhat surprising.

I am saying best player. In total he is the best basketball player. He DID NOT play the best, and that is my final take. Maybe I didn't word that best, but do you get what I am saying?

Funny, go back and read a little closer. Not once did I say that he was the better player last night. I said Johnson was close to him, but never once said he was better. You are correct, Moore scored 1 on 3 multiple times, I wouldn't say 5, but 3 yes. This is not taking away from Moore at all in any of this.

You might be right, but that just credits Johnson's supporting staff.

Assuming you are talking about Johnson? If so, this team seems to not take very much pride into defense. Only when it matters coming down the stretch, which I think is a huge fault in their team. Also, assuming you don't watch them much, they run a trapping press, so you really aren't guarding anyone. I don't have any proof of it in those exact games, but they rely on it a lot.

LOL, 2 things; he missed many games this year due to injury (6 I believe?), and strength of schedule.

There are plays ran for Moore to get good post looks and plays ran for him to get open shots. Not to mention he normally takes at least 1 shot per possession. Stats are not posted for the game, and I don't expect them to ever be. But, I would love to see his FG% in this game. Johnson creates every look of his on his own. WC's entire offense is just continuous dribbling trying to find lanes and either finish at the rim or find the open guy for 3. You said it yourself, he is more athletic than everyone on the court. So why don't we down credit Moore for being bigger and stronger than almost everyone he plays against? Like I said, Moore has one of the best careers (statistic wise) in regional history, but go watch them play. Like I have said many times before, the eye test is the greatest test when comparing players. Based off the eye test, Johnson shines over Moore.

I think you need to be on a varsity roster to make an impact on the game LOL.

Yes, multiple times. Not sure on the reasoning behind that. There was still plenty of time left in that game with them only being 2 possessions down.

I would think someone with the tenure he has, it would be hard to just "draw the line". When you look at the big picture, he has had a successful career being an 'A' school. But... if you look at the amount of once in a lifetime talent he has had in just the last 10 years, that success doesn't look near as impressive. What is everyone in Owen County thinking? I'd imagine its split in opinions, but I am curious.

Um I would say Johnson was just as good as Moore. If you truly know basketball, he was by far the best player on the floor. Johnson had 3 Division 1 athletes as teammates, he is never going to have Teagan Moore stats, but he is better at the game of basketball. Anyways, the missing starter could've had some affect on the outcome, but I am not sure where. He is a great defender, but who would he have guarded? If it was going to be Roberts, I do not think that he could've done any better then Utter did. In my many times of watching them this year he has never imposed himself as a scoring threat, so where would he impact the game?

Assuming you mean Owen coach? Lol. Anyways, as soon as the sub happened and they got a quick 4 points, timeout was called. I looked at the people sitting around me and said "game is over", and it was all WOFO as they call themselves for the remainder of the game.
