  1. I highly recommend him. And honestly, I only gave Roadhouse Sun a few shakes...been thinking about bringing it back out.
  2. Been listening to Junky Star by Ryan Bingham. I loved his debut Mescalito and wasn't a huge fan of Roadhouse Sun, Junky Star brings him back into my good graces. Excellent album, and his songwriting really fits into the Steve Earle, Tom Waits, and Chris Knight (especially with his songs about murder and on the run) style of writing about hard and out characters. Plus that voice has the same raw qualities as Steve Earle. For those of you who have seen Crazy Heart, Bingham penned "The Weary Kind" and also performed it on the soundtrack.
  3. "Infinite Arms" is a very good album. I haven't listened to any of their old stuff but like you I plan on checking it out sometime. I've never heard of them. More information please?
  4. I of course have been listening to Justin Townes Earle - Harlem River Blues.
  5. That's enough to give it an automatic listen.
  6. Anyone going? I should be there for the next three days. Pretty excited, it's been several years since I've been able to make the whole tourny. Go Hawks!
  7. Ryle is certainly a good team. They have great coaches and good program all around. They should be in the hunt for the foreseeable future.
  8. I left after the end of the 285 match, but I hear he got a well deserved MOW as well.
  9. I will tell you Rockmom, Trinity's wrestlers looked very good yesterday, especially Fahy and Bradbury. Both were very impressive.
  10. Here is the current top ten: 1. Union County 57.00 2. Trinity (Louisville) 54.50 3. Ryle 47.00 4. John Hardin 41.50 5. Oldham County 37.00 6. Larue County 34.00 7. Henry Clay 31.50 8. St. Xavier 31.00 9. Johnson Central 30.50 10. Campbell County 30.00 (tie) Woodford County 30.00
  11. The Nelson County 189 was in the finals. During the finals match he didn't look bad...but ended up getting pinned by the kid from John Hardin (I believe off of a throw). I can't help you as much with that one.
  12. It's a three-way race between them, Trinity, and Union County in my opinion. If I was forced to pick one...I think I'd have to lean towards Trinity right now.
  13. He is an 8th grader that had to fill in at the last minute because of an injury. He will be good, but he hasn't grown into a 189lb body yet. It was awesome to see him make it, but I would predict a pin from your boy.
  14. I'll be there on Thursday (all day) and Saturday (for at least the 7th, 5th, 3rd, and 1st place matches) for sure.
  15. They had two wrestlers in finals. Louis Beto got pinned by Jamie Pile from Nelson County late in the 3rd period in the 145lb weight class. Evan Hester barely got beat by Drew Newberry from LaRue County in the 215lb weight class. If I remember correctly Drew scored on a late escape to get the W. I'm not sure how many others they sent to state as I really only focused on LaRue or Nelson County matches in the earlier rounds.
  16. Yes they did. One year I'm going to make it to Hoops to watch the regionals. With region 3, 4, and 5 there it is probably the best place to see the most wrestling. It's just hard not to watch LaRue @ regionals. Did you go?
  17. Trinity should win it all.
  18. 7 LaRue County 5 Manual 3 North Hardin 2 Iroquois 1 Waggener TB LaRue County
  19. That stinks. I'm sure they will lose and I really wanted to see Hood play.
  20. I can't find any information on this tournament. I want to watch Hood play, but I am unable to go to the game on 1/14, will they play again if they lose? Also, where are the games? Thanks in advance.
  21. Looks like LaRue was handed their first loss. I don't have many details except for I heard LaRue shot poorly from the charity stripe.
  22. I used to be very active...but honestly I rarely get to a meet anymore and can't provide much to the discussion. I really wish it was different, because the forum was great at one time.
