  1. Sticking to my prediction from a couple weeks back. Jolly keeps balling and takes the Camels on a special run. CC by 7.
  2. Congrats to Reese and company. West Virginia seems like the right fit.
  3. Johnson is the best player on the court and one of the best left in the state. Trinity by double digits.
  4. I remember some fellow saying that Gallatin Co. would struggle in region when they got to some pretty good teams. Congrats OC.
  5. Newport needs to come out in pressure from the jump, if they let CCH control the pace it will be 10-15 point game. The Colonels have struggled with pressure from the games I’ve seen. If Newport has some success speeding the Colonels up I think they can keep it close enough to have a chance in the 4th.
  6. Leaving work a little early today, trying to hit the gym before I head over to NKU for the 9th region semis. Looks like another night of taquitos from Speedway.
  7. Had a couple buddies at the 8th regions quarterfinal games. Said they were fun to watch. I will have to stick to my region preview predictions and take Oldham County in this one. They are playing the best they have all year and they'll continue the streak. OC - 67 GC - 65
  8. Ballard has been there before. No surprise here.
  9. This would have to be one of the biggest upsets in recent years, right?
  10. Running the gauntlet to open the season! Those first 4 games will be tough.
  11. One of the more interesting semi final matchups in the state. I’ll say GRC 64-58.
  12. Was he on the bench for the St. Henry game?
  13. Cov Cath is always a tough out this time of year. I think Frederick and the Colonels will come up with a game plan to control the tempo. I see Cov Cath winning in a low scoring game by 10-15.
  14. Ballard vs Trinity in the finals. Ballard is ready for this match-up vs Waggener. While Waggener may have shown how good they are in the regular season, the postseason is a completely different animal. Give me the Bruins by 4. Trinity vs Eastern seems like a David vs Goliath match-up. Maybe Hensley can pull off some of that magic from his Holmes days. I would love to see Eastern pull this off but Trinity advances. 68-49.
  15. This is a tough game to pick. Cooper's defense is definitely the best I have seen in the 9th region, but Beechwood has been on a roll as of late. If Beechwood can shoot like they did in the Quarterfinals (12/17 from 3), which I do not expect them to do, then they can win this game. Keeping Deere & Houston in check is going to be tough as well. If Cooper can continue to do what they have done all year by playing stifling defense and scoring by committee, then they should come out on top. I am excited for this one and think the winner of this game will go to Rupp next week. With that being said... Tigers - 54 Jags - 52
  16. The Beechwood game will be a fun game to kick off the season. It’s always fun to see regular season games with teams matching up from different parts of the state. I’m sure it’s been awhile since Paintsville and Beechwood last met.
  17. I think this is a solid schedule for Walton who continues to improve as program. I’m sure eventually they will continue to step up the competition level, but for a small school like Walton they’ve scheduled every team in Northern Kentucky that is open to playing them at this point.
  18. I don’t think that would be a game that Beechwood would pick up for out of district. They tend to schedule up in class or schedule games that force them to travel in preparation for the playoffs.
  19. I think this game is the first of many for CC in a row. They might go on a run like Scott did a few years back. And just like that Scott team w/ Ohmer, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jolly carry the Camels and start to get noticed by some coaches around the state.
  20. Newport needs Harding to stay out of foul trouble. I expect this one to be close. Give me the Wildcats by 3.
  21. Dating back to the 2010/2011 season, Trinity has either made the Sweet 16 or have been bounced by Ballard in one of the rounds of region or district. Pretty bizarre stat. Could hold true again if they meet in the finals on Saturday.
  22. 37-28 Cooper. 2:35 left in 4Q. Cooper content to just hold it.
  23. Congrats to the Royals. Crazy end to the season for Bourbon County, back to back heartbreaking losses is tough.
