I have a limited knowledge of how RPI works but I do have some knowledge. The above post clears it up a little more. What I do not understand is how a team with two losses but wins over two teams with 3 losses ends behind them in RPI going into week 9. T beats FD and X and lands behind them in the current ranking.
Another questions I have; If lower levels get multipliers for playing higher level teams Shouldn't they be around the same RPI numbers as the teams they play? For example South Warren would be in 6th place in RPI this morning in 4A. If we are really trying to rank the teams on performance and every team gets scored the same way, how does 6A #1 SW land in sixth place if they were in the 4A bracket?
I am not sure truer words have been spoken. Maybe one the best runs of talent the state has seen in years. possibly decades. Does anyone have a list of the D1 commits to compare to the list of the schools mentioned in the YouTube post? Can we compare those list to the number of D1 talent X and T had during the same time frame? I would venture to say that FD has a longer list and its not close.
I vote to expand it. Go from somewhere in the middle of June through the 15th of July. 3 days in shorts in helmets, 3 days in shoulder pads, then full gear. Let coaches use their better judgement on how much contact there will be. Allow football activities from the start of Spring ball leading up to the dead period. You can use this time for 7v7. The only sanctioned sport it would effect would be baseball. Track usually ends this week.
Does the unprofessional manner in which Coach D was let go impact how many quality coaches apply for this job? Looking back at the recent records, this school has had the success rate that many schools would love to have over the last 20 years. Minimal loses in district play, a few of those L's in district play came to eventual State Champions, Belfry and Breathitt.
I do not believe that is correct for Indiana. You can actually move up until you reach the highest class. I don't know of a football team, but Providence volleyball is playing Class 4 due to their point accumulation the past 2 cycles, while all other sports at the school are class 2.
I am pretty sure that T has played CovCath in the last 3-4 season in JV. Although its not a great indicator it can give you idea of the results this game might lead to. Anyone have those scores?
