  1. Could somebody please tell me how Central, with an enrollment of just over a thousand, and Corbin, with an enrollment of just around a thousand manage to stay 3-A while Belfry, with an enrollment of less than 700 stays 3-A? Even 1-A Pikeville, Belfry's next opponent has an enrollment of around 800! I know Corbin and Pikeville are Independent schools yet Central is Public! What gives? Assuming everything holds true to form in the playoffs can Belfry go on the road to Louisville and beat a Central team that is I think, 29-2 at home in the playoffs? Assuming they can and Corbin breezes thru an easy bracket would they not have to travel to CAM, where I think Belfry is 30-2 in playoff games to play Belfry in the semis? An even bigger joke is the class rankings in West Virginia. BOTH Huntington and Cabell Midland have enrollments between 1500 and 2000 and would easily be two of the largest 6-A teams in KY because of the classification restraints are a mere 3-A in WV! I think Belfry has a legit chance for a thumb ring!
  2. First of all before I forget it I would appreciate you sending me a PM with your sources! You really know your stuff! I don't know who is your fav, BUT, we all have one or maybe two or three. I am a Belfry Grad and a HUGE Belfry fan that has suffered for years to see them get to where they are now. Anyone can beat anyone on a given day! Even Bama shows they are human occasionally. My point is I don't think Belfry has lost to ANY Kentucky team since the year everyone is talking about...2014. I believe they have won 31 or 32 straight games against ALL classes in Kentucky since that time! The Innocent Until Proven Guilty comment simply means that admittedly, even if they don't have the Super Team they have had the last four years, they are still 4-time defending State Champions until someone shows otherwise! The kind of team they have had the past few years doesn't come along very often! Their OL and DL looked like a college line! Do they even have any 300 pounders this year? Seems like I read the average size or their OL and DL is LESS than 200 pounds this year! A lot of prime beef gone! They have five or six running backs they can interchange for power, speed, OR power and speed and their linebackers are second to none that I am aware of. It took a Huntington, WV to get behind and around the ends of their defense and whatever size their OL and DL are they are moving people! I do however look for them to probably lose to Cabell Midland and lose their first game to a Kentucky team when JC rolls into CAM! Sorta ironic. JC was the last Kentucky team to beat them THREE years ago! However, don't forget the X-Factor. Anybody ever heard of a coach named Philip Haywood? He knows how to get the best out of what he has and he showed a few new plays against Newport Catholic that shocked me! He may pull off wins against Cabell Midland and JC! I think he could take a squad of cheerleaders and make a decent team out of them! I know him personally and he is just as good a man as he is a coach and we all know his coaching resume'! He may pull off a win on the moon, BUT, I'll take the thumb ring right here in the great State of Kentucky! Of course a couple of 290- 300 pounders certainly wouldn't hurt! Any to spare?:D Your thoughts Alt
  3. Pirates beat a decent Newport Central team handily despite 3 or 4 fumbles and an interception. Off and Def lines improved drastically, QB Browning otherwise was 4 for 5 passing and take you pick on running backs. Speed, power OR speed AND power! Better competition ahead. Need to hold onto the pigskin! I think you WILL see a difference next game! Coach Haywood righting the Pirate Ship! A good lecture and a little super glue will take care of the fumbling! With Corbin and Central suffering losses I think Belfry is as good as anyone in 3-A. Still got Pikeville, (a rivalry game), Cabell Midland and Johnson Central. Probably two of them losses BUT gaining confidence and playing great team ball. Really think they can play with anyone in 3-A. Keep em walking the plank and get that thumb ring!
  4. I was feeling pretty good until you guys reminded me of the cross bracketing. I agree it is a joke and you are right about the Pirates play. Offense wins games, defense wins championships! ALTCat is right. D line and special teams have to improve a lot and mental errors and stupid turnovers have to stop not to mention we lost about a thousand pounds of prime beef on the O and D lines. However, if anyone can right the Pirate Ship does the name Philip Haywood ring a bell?
  5. Being a Belfry grad and diehard spoiled fan, (4 in a row tends to spoil you), I hate to admit it but I think Corbin is as good as advertised although I think they had a little zebra help on that last drive. They did convert when they had to. Sizemore has to be one of the top QB's in the state and if Beechwood can't contain him it's gonna be a long night for the Tigers. Corbin 28-Beechwood 14
  6. Thanks Watusi. Like the ring! Sure would like to see another! Spoiled and greedy! Again thanks, Greg

  8. Do you think the Pirates will make a run for another title, or is Corbin too good?
