  1. Belfry intercepts 4th and 8 pass from Midlands. Hunter runs 68 yards for TD BUT called back on hold.
  2. Good running makes up for a lot of defensive errors! Defense seems to be adjusting. Yards not as easy to come by now!

  6. Hey Tusi, Sent you a PM and it got lost somewhere! I'm doing this from memory and I'm sure you still have your facts from 1695! Thanks to the roster you sent me BOTH O-Lines are pretty well even. I think Belfry's offense is scoring at close to a point a minute when the regulars are in! I think I either read on here or again you told me 1 Also think they lead the state in rushing and total points per game! Not bad for losing around a thousand pounds of prime beef! Their Interior D-Line HAS to slow down the quality backs of CM BUT have really shown great improvement since the Huntington game! We have also had quite a bit of improvement being able to play just about everybody! If my feeble mind is correct I think Belfry was down 14-7 to CM with about five minutes left in the first half when they decided to play hot potato and put the ball on the ground THREE straight times either on kickoffs or 1st and 2nd down turning a 14-7 game into a runaway, (clock and all)! Two more scores and it was game, set and match from 14-7 to a 35-7 halftime lead! Tack on two more and it really looked bad! Think they put the ball on the ground eight times and added an interception for good measure! Otherwise a good game minus the turnovers! Then for good measure the next week at CAM they put it on the ground it 7 times and threw an interception against a much weaker opponent in Lawrence County and with about 2:24 were trailing when Coach Haywood called a timeout, and read them the riot act! They then marched it 60 or 70 yards for the winning score! Same song different verse this year! Had Huntington 27-7 and gave up 4 or 5 fumbles to GIVE it away! Same thing at Newport Central although we won that one after Coach Haywood pulled half of his hair out! I feel good about the Cabell Midland game! I call it a toss up and STILL compare Belfry to Boyle County and think they have a good shot to win it all again! I Still don't know how this crazy playoff schedule goes, BUT I think ONE of the usual suspects will win it all! I sense you are leaning toward Cabell Midland and also think you pick one of the usual suspects will win it all! "How the West was Won" not quite ready yet except for either Boyle, (think they are out of the west this year), or possibly E-Town! Last horse in MY race! So what do YOU think Tusi? My novel is over! BTW. Didn't mean ALL of this for just you, but do know you know your stuff my friend!
  7. No real thoughts, (I would be in real trouble)! Until they get this crazy District thing fixed and there is more equality Corbin 54-Jackson 6. No disrespect intended! Otherwise I would have to think!
  8. First of all I am doing this from pure memory and last time I looked I'm not an elephant! You want facts go to theguru and his great crew and Watusi! He is the Joe Friday of Blue Grass Preps! "Just the facts ma`am, just the facts!" I think he has everyone of them and they are all accurate from about the 17th Century on! When Belfry got blown out at Cabell Midland I think Midland had just scored and it was 14-7 Midland. Belfry then decided to play hot potato and made THREE straight fumbles with less than five minutes left in the first half either on kickoffs or 1st or 2nd down near their own goal and a close game made it 35-7 at the half! I think they made a total of 8 fumbles and an interception and the rest is forgettable history! I also read somewhere that was the BEST team Cabell Midland had ever put together! Not knocking them, they had a GREAT team and have the scat backs again, BUT, like Belfry, not as big up front and I think Belfry just about equals them in backs if not better! Nobody knows how many yards, (except for Watusi), how many yards Belfry's backs have put up individually or even their total yards gained collectively since they score on long runs usually on 1st or 2nd down before the running clock comes into play! Also, the very next game I think they had something like 7 fumbles and an interception against Lawrence County after CM and were trailing to a much less talented team with around two minutes to play at CAM with about 70-75 yards to go until Coach Haywood called a timeout and read them the riot act! They buckled their chin straps and drove down the field for the winning touchdown! Same thing with Huntington! Four or five fumbles AFTER leading 27-7 with just a couple of minutes left in the half! The rest of that one is history! Then they turned around and put the ball on the ground three or four times and threw an interception at Newport Central with better results winning that one! Bet Coach Haywood was scratching his head and wondering what made him continue to keep coaching! Since then I think they may have had one or two fumbles and a couple of picks from the JV and the defensive line has really started to play ball! The starters have needed more reps, BUT, the advantage to Belfry is they have gotten to give a lot of reserves quite a bit of quality playing time! I keep waiting on a screen or reverse! They have the speed and size on offense to pull them off if needed! Back to you guys and your thoughts! I am gonna put them on an even playing field with Boyle County right now! They are running over AND around their opponents, just don't forget the pigskin! I truly think we have a shot at #5 and that is with my head and not my heart! How far off am I?
  9. Having grown up on Pond Creek, graduating from Belfry and not missing a game home OR away for years to watch both good and bad teams I consider streaming a PLUS! Never knew how much I would miss leaning against those fences until I got transferred seven years ago to, of all places Tennessee! You think the West Virginia/Kentucky or Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky games are heated you haven't seen anything like a Tennessee/Kentucky game! I don't know whether it started with basketball or football at the college level or not, believe me, Tennessee hates to lose a game of checkers to ANY Kentucky team! Boy do they know how to brag if they win and how to make excuses if they lose! A good example is when Clemson managed to defeat Bama on the last play of last year's Championship football game. I can't think of ONE person down here that was pulling for a Southeastern Team team over an ACC Team! As far as I am concerned, just because Tennessee couldn't win shouldn't affect you rooting for another SEC team to win it all. Down here it is Tennessee or nobody! Give me a break! How narrow- minded can you be? Bringing it back down to the high school level I cherish every game a Kentucky team beats a Vol team. If you look up the term Vol you will find another name, a noun I think, that refers to a Vol-Weasel as a field mouse! If I insulted any Tennessee fans I KIND of apologize, but your childish behavior over a bunch of 15-18 year old kids makes me want to lean even harder on that fence and NOT apologize over people who act like they are five or six! I just want to see a clean, well-played, well-officiated game with no injuries and hopefully a great game! I REALLY miss seeing those games in person, BUT, I appreciate more than mere words can say the opportunities streaming has given me the past seven years and when I retire I will be leaning on that fence again! Streaming gives you the best of BOTH WORLDS! I will forever be thankful for the opportunity I have been given and I don't think at present streaming has hurt the ticket sales at the gate on any given program anywhere! Parents and gate leaners attend ALL of the games of their teams as not many bad teams get streamed on Friday night game of the week OR the games broadcast from Hazard on WMYT TV on LiveStream2 no matter who plays! If Belfry can't win go Corbin! What is so terrible about that?! Walk a mile in my shoes and then tell me how much of a true fan you are and how much you would appreciate seeing YOUR team either way! I AM NOT leaving out the radio guys either! Your voices give me a longing for home also!
  10. Thanks for correcting me. I had 5-A on my mind for some reason. Anyhow, they both strengthened 3-A! Thanks again for the info!
  11. Speaking of Lexington Catholic, were they and Boyle County both 5-A I think about three years ago and and both dropped TWO classes to 3-A the same year? I don't recall a mass exodus in Lexington and Boyle County that would have caused two larger schools to drop two classes! Hope I have the schools and classes right! Looks like it would take a huge event to drop or climb two classes! Anyone know what the KHSAA had to do with this and how it came about? I don't know about everybody else but it sorta gets my attention when something like this happens!
  12. I think most are missing the key word NOW! The usual suspects will probably be there when the smoke clears but I have to agree with Watusi for NOW. Boyle is impressive and with the exception of Danville are rolling over everybody in their path!
  13. Hey Watusi, Get to see any of the game? It was over a minute and twenty one seconds into the game! Belfry was up 21-0! You know far more than I do, but I did find out the game will be aired at 7pm this evening on EKB TV and again at 4 and 7 on Sunday.
  14. Hope you are right Call, but as much as I would love to see it happening they have two tough regular season games and due to that crazy realignment some tough tests in November. Cabell Midland is loaded, they are just as good as Huntington, and Johnson Central last game of regular season. They beat Huntington in a scrimmage 14-7 and are the last Kentucky team to beat Belfry I think back in 2014. If Belfry, Central and Corbin all make it to the quarters Belfry would have to go to Louisville to play Central where they are something like 29-2 at home in the playoffs! IF Belfry survives that one and Corbin wins, (they have pretty much a cakewalk into the semis), I think they travel to CAM where Belfry is something like 30-2 in the playoffs. I think the winner out of those three will be the 3-A Champ although I am keeping a close eye on Boyle County! I hope the Pirates have smooth sailing and can get a thumb ring!
