Campbell defeated Harrison Co and Scott defeated Montgomery Co to set up another 10th Region Final between these two schools. I am calling for the upset tonight as Campbell Co is actually playing more fundamentally sound than Scott right now.

It is that large...every year Scott and Campbell County battle to win the 10th and go to state. In 2012 with the realignment Scott and Campbell County have split the 10th Region Championship 3-3.

The AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Assn) have released the 2017 Phenom Players list. 30 high school juniors were selected from Kentucky for their performance and leadership on the court. NDA is not the team of the Morgan Hentz era...I will never bet against NDA and I must correct myself as I meant NDA not MND (Cincinnati).

I have watched Cooper, Ryle, MND, Scott, NCC, Henry Clay, North Oldham, Oldham County, Lafayette and Tates Creek play this season and by far Beechwood was the most fundamentally sound team of them all. Beechwood is not an intimidating team but is so fundamentally sound and mentally tough it is hard to beat them. Our girls beat them in the first set and then lost 3 straight!! Beechwood doesn't get any respect.....right Rodney!!

This game could be as ugly as Cooper. SK wins by 30. Highlands needs to find a new staff and another losing season will not sit well in Fort Thomas

I have played on both sides of a blow out like this game and I get that coaches want stats for players and statements to be made. The outcome was decided within the first 1:30 of the game after the pick 6 and a 16-0 score. When the opponent can't even get a first down let alone positive yards then you have to dial back your D and play a base formation and forget about run and pass blitz. I was disappointed in the sportsmanship of SK when they had to pass for yet another TD at the end of the half to make it 58-7....seriously what does that prove to anyone? It takes more courage to win with class than to stomp a mud hole in some one. Cooper lost 16 of 22 starters last year and this team is no more than a JV team playing a varsity schedule. But regardless of what the name of the high school is, play with class and dignity as SK has forgotten their seasons of 1-10 prior to 2008. SK will beat Highlands and win out the rest of the season...only real test is Ryle. Good luck against the powerhouses Trinity, St X or Pleasure Ridge.

Marksberry shows no sportsmanship with another TD pass....58 at half...all I can say is when SK meets Lafayette, Trinity or St X the treatment is repaid

Harrison Co should win the tourney and remain undefeated

NCC is a legacy school that no longer can offer what it once did. Many Catholic schools in Cincinnati or across the country felt they would rebound but instead had to combine. With the addition of the fantastic new facility that BBHS has planned and financed, why would a top athlete want to go to NCC? NCC still has a 1950's era gym, Newport HS football field, baseball/softball field in Silver Grove...doesn't make sense. Everything comes full circle and if you are old enough to remember BBHS was ready to disappear in 1983...now they are ready to establish themselves as the premier parochial high school in Campbell County. Salute to BBHS for the foresight to excel.

I see the Diocese combining schools in the next 5 yrs. Cincinnati Diocese is combining Mercy and McAuley in 2018...money is tight and this would make for a very competitive school athletically

#12 Greenwood d. Lafayette in 3 (great game) then Lafayette loses in 3 to a Campbell Co team that is struggling (keep that rotation coach) and now we have a match up of Campbell Co and #12 Greenwood. Campbell Co loses to #16 McCrackin Co 25-6, 25-23...which Campbell Co team shows up to play. Then there are the perennial heavyweights: #13 Oldham Co v. #8 N. Oldham #16 McCracken Co v. #12 Greenwood #15 Cooper v. #21 West Jessamine

Cooper, Oldham Co, McCrackin Co, North Oldham, Campbell Co, and Lafayette all sit at 2-0 after pool play. McCrackin looked to be in mid-season form, as well as Cooper (Maddie Buys, Morgan Kelly and Chelan Beasley) dominate. Campbell Co won but rotation issues will be their Achilles heel. Hoping to see a Top 25 match up of Oldham and North Oldham. Good competition tonight and tomorrow should be just as good.
