According to posts on my Facebook and Twitter feeds March is National Athletic Training month, who knew? It got me to wondering in this day and age of litigation and concussions how many high schools have or don't have full time trainers covering their games and practices. I did some googling and found this site LINK that shows schools in Kentucky with trainers. Does you school have a trainer, full time?

Seventh Region Final - Ballard v. Trinity
Larry Linville replied to Smallhoops's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
This is a mental game. Jay Scrubb and David Johnson from a talent standpoint will be the best players in the floor and Justin Powell isn’t far behind. Last year Ballard got in Trinity’s head early and stayed there. Can they do it again? I honestly believe that the reason that Renner has chosen not to play Trinity during the regular season is because when he has had to face the Rocks twice in the second season Trinity has been able to make adjustments to better handle their pressure. Unknown variable, officials from the 12th region. So far in the games I’ve seen they’ve been pretty good. This is going to be a packed house that’s loud. The game will be fast paced and could get out of control if the refs can’t manage it. If Ballard is allowed to get very physical (and if Trinity’s trinity is playing well they may have to) that could swing the game in Ballard’s favor. -
Trinity/St Xavier Updates

3 observations. X’s point guard is not good. What purpose does Mike Glaser serve? Without Keisler next year X will be bad. -
And for the record this degenerate gambler is running his office pool for the 35th consecutive season. Started in in Season 2, Australia.

So what did you think of the Ghost Island twist? I liked it. I like that the winning team at immunity gets to pick who goes and that they are safe from eviction. I like that the person on the island has to gamble if they get the advantage and that there's a real consequence if they lose. I like that not every person who goes to Ghost Island will get a chance to win and advantage. It will be interesting to see how it plays out after merger.

It's interesting to watch the people that support the sanctions against the bakers now be fully OK with this.

Dick's Sporting Goods to Stop Selling Assault-Style Rifles
Larry Linville replied to TheDeuce's topic in Controversial Issues
As I said in the other post every thing that only "adults" should be legally allowed to buy should be tied to voting age. Some want to make 16 the legal voting age, fine then 16 year olds are adults, they can join the military, they can but alcohol and they can buy guns. -

Certain bakers weren't given that choice. -
I personally believe that legal gun ownership age, the age that its legal to buy alcohol and the age that it's legal to drive a car should be tied to the age that it's legal to vote. I've seen a but of a push that voting age should be 16, if so then legal voters should be able to do all of the age restricted things I listed. As to the topic of the thread. If Dick's chooses sell guns then they should do it within the current legal parameters. If they don't want to sell guns to people under 21 they should stop selling guns all together.

They still play baseball. -
First point I want to make, I don't wish Seneca any ill. I do hope the move is good for them. That said they are going on their 3rd coach in 3 years. I thought the kids that were on the team last year played hard but there just weren't many of them. I think they had less then 30 players dressed when they played Trinity in the first round of the playoffs, Even at 5A if they can't improve their numbers they will have a hard tome competing with anyone.

I don't see how just the drop in class will make a miraculous change in Seneca's fortunes.

You’d have to ask Ballard. After Trinity came from behind a few years ago and beat them in the regional they wouldn’t agree to play them again. -

Perhaps that’s the reason Ballard refuses to play Trinity during the regular season. -

2019-2022 Draft Football Realignment

Hopefully all of the “big 3” will continue to play each other. We know Trinity and X will. Hopefully Male will agree to play both. -

Muhlenberg County would have been in 6A had Barren County not requested to play up. -

At first glance regarding 6A only. Likes: The "Big 3" are all in different districts. Male and Manual are in different districts so they can resume playing their rivalry game the last game of the year if they choose to. Dislikes Trinity is in a 3 team district. They have enough trouble getting games as it is, this adds 2 more they now have to come up with. From a geographical standpoint Oldham County would have been a better fit in Trinity's district. -
Who's the boss the AD or the coach? Maybe, just maybe it would be better for the overall program and that's what the AD was thinking. I still contend that 8 days in pads in March or April does not translate into results in September. Every football coach in Kentucky has all of June and July with the exception of the dead period to teach fundamentals. And I'm far from "just a casual observer" of high school football. Where's the consistency in football rules. During the regular season everyone has to go through an acclimation period before they are allowed to put on full pads, and no it's not because of heat as a kid coming back from an injury or being ruled eligible late in the season has to go through it. Yet the current spring rules allow full contact after 2 days and as someone pointed out earlier some of the kids that come out in the spring have never played before.
