  1. Another view. Everyone could see it except the umpire.
  2. Would you be upset? Never called an illegal pitch.
  3. Or.... Lyons coaches didn't do a good enough job arguing their point, both coaches were livid.
  4. Holy Cross proved they can manipulate umpires... Can anyone say illegal pitch?
  5. Holy Cross is playing like a well oiled machine
  6. Holy Cross got Lyon in the semis. Hancock beat Middlesboro.
  7. It's a cluster again. No tarps on field, what a joke. Everyone understands it rains, but not being prepared (just a little) is unacceptable.
  8. Probably going to single-elimination tournament it is raining in Owensboro.... Imagine That!
  9. Are we gonna get enough break in the weather, to get the All A in?
  10. Lyon is a good team but like you, I think Holy Cross is the team to beat. Lyon has beaten Hancock once. Hoping to see some great softball.
  11. I am in agreement on your pairings coming from the pools. Not trying to slight any teams I just don't know the eastern and northern teams. I think Holy Cross will be solid. 3 of their losses have been to top 10 teams. Murray has been kind of on again off again. They have been beaten by teams that they should have beaten. But, Murray seems to be getting hot again at the right time. Murray's pitching is different they don't throw hard but they are never in the middle. Hancock Co. is solid they can hit. I don't think Hancock Co. wins it all but they are a threat to knock anyone out. Lyon is solid they are on a 15 game winning streak. They beat #16 Union Co. They are solid on defense, have really good pitching, and can hit. Sorry about the auto correct it should have said Raceland.
  12. I believe it is the smallest 125 schools in the state. Some don't participate. Sorry didn't mean to answer out of turn.
  13. McCracken showed why they are #1 in the state. I know earlier Madisonville beat them, but that was like waking the beast. They have 3 top pitchers, and no weaknesses at the plate or in the field. I know there are no guarantees when it comes tourney time, but they look really good.
  14. OK everyone the pools are set. Time to get your thoughts and predictions. I'll list the pools along with the team record. Some of the records may be a day behind because the scores haven't been updated on KHSAA. Pool A Region 2- Lyon Co. (17-2) Region 9- Newport Central Catholic (8-6) Region 10- Bishop Brossart (7-5) Region 15- Pikeville (16-4) Pool B Region 4- Glasgow (10-6) Region 6- Holy Cross (7-8) Region 7- Whitefield Academy (3-2) Region 11- Lexington Christian (9-7) Pool C Region 3- Hancock Co. (11-7) Region 8- Walton Verona (5-10) Region 12- Somerset (13-8) Region 16- Graceland (13-4) Pool D Region 1- Murray (12-5) Region 5- Campbellsville (10-6) Region 13- Middlesboro (9-3) Region 14- Wolfe Co. (12-6) There it is put your two cents in. I'll be back to give my thoughts later. Sorry this was so long but my phone would not let me paste a link for some reason. Have a good time. If you should see anything wrong let me know and I'll fix it. Thanks
  15. This should be awesome! This is who top teams should be playing...other top teams. Gotta tip your cap to these coaches. Wish I could be there.
  16. Looks like the 15 innings was too much for Carlisle County to overcome. Murray is Champs of the 1st region
  17. Almost forgot she throws hard, good catcher, and solid defense behind her. If she makes a mistake her defense minimizes it. Looking on khsaa they've only allowed 26 runs in 19 games.
  18. With movement and a catcher she trust to throw that movement.
  19. It was a great game. Bingham and Franklin pitched well. Lyon's defense is solid all the way around. The coaches at Caldwell have been teaching their kids the right way to play. Both teams are young and could make some noise for the next couple of years in the 2nd region. Murray is the team everyone thought would walk through the 1st. They normally are solid on defense and hit well. Carlisle can hit and have been getting better. 15 innings is tough physically and mentally. I think anything could happen, but I hope that the Carlisle pitcher has a rubber arm. I haven't been sold that Murray is going to handle them that easy. I think Murray has an advantage being at home. I just hope that the teams from Western KY represent this end of the state well.
  20. Lyon County rallied to win against Caldwell in the 2nd region championship game. Lyon is now 17-2 and have won over 10 in a row. Just a quick note this team has scored 148 runs and allowed only 26 on the season.
  21. I think you said Graves in region 1 All A, they are a bigger school. I think it will come down to Murray or Hickman in region 1. Lyon is also playing good ball right now. I think they will take the 2nd region All A but Caldwell is really an improved young team.
  22. As we left Bowling Green this morning, it was almost 40 degrees and not much wind. The weather today is far better than the first 2 days. Sun is shining not many clouds at all. I'm thinking a poorly run tournament wasn't making money so someone pulled the plug. I also agree if a team was willing to stay they should get a full refund. I know of several coaches who were willing to play.
  23. I will do my best to not break any rules here. As a coach with several years experience, I have never been in such a fiasco called a tournament. Waiting until the second day to cancel all games was wrong. The weather was not great(no rain just wind and cold) but was playable. All teams had the same disadvantages. I've never in my coaching career heard of 9 teams dropping out after the second day. Maybe I'm over-reacting but we came to play, and were playing well. There is a real fishy smell in Bowling Green tonight. Our coaching staff is in agreement that we won't be back. Also our parents, boosters, and players are not only disappointed, but have spent extra money because they waited so late to cancel. I'm gonna stop now :deadhorse: Thanks for reading. We did see some great games and good teams the first two days. Christian Co., Bullitt East, Butler, Warren East, Collins, Lyon Co., Webster Co. and Union Co. all looked good.
  24. I'm not sure Union is ready to challenge for the region crown. The pitching hasn't been as good as last year. Lyon County beat them on their home field. They are a good team, but not on the level of Madisonville.
