Doesn't it seem logical that the current atmosphere around discipline in the school had a lot to do with the resignation? Just days before this story broke, Scott High was on every local news show for a school fight that was not handled appropriately.

I saw Coach Linville getting that beautiful head of hair trimmed at Big Time Tease Salon in Augusta.

I have been told that Aaron Linville, former girls' varsity assistant at Bracken County, is the frontrunner for the vacant head coaching position at Bath County.

Coach Kirk's gameplan was flawless. Combs was a non factor as he was pulled away from the rim by a much quicker Jared Shoemaker. Once Augusta stretched their lead above 7, Combs couldn't be on the floor. The Augusta kids showed everyone in that gym last night how to play a basketball game. An absolute clinic on both ends of the floor. It was a joy to watch.

Pendleton has to get Allen going early. If Montgomery can contest Allen's shots and offensive drives, PC's only other offense is to try to force Montgomery into a three point shooting contest. If the Indians are patient on offense early and often, they win this game easily. I'm a big fan of Coach Belcher but I can't confidently pick Pendleton. Montgomery County by 14.

Mason County has to come out with a great start. I don't see anyone forcing Campbell into bad perimeter shots unless the Camels have to come from behind. Campbell is the tournament favorite because of Matt Wilson. I've struggled to find a scenario where Mason can win a tight game. Campbell will play inside-out until you can force them into a different style. I don't see that happening here. Camels by 8.

The difference in the game will be on the glass. Teams are able to zone Scott because they lack any real threat of second chance opportunities. If Augusta can contest shots (which also means preventing Ohmer from penetrating) and box out, they will win this game by close to double figures.

I was going to school at Augusta at this time and my parents would have paid for me to go to St. Patrick rather than send me to Brooksville. So, you're right. Not everyone from that era would have gone to BC.

Very good preview. One minor complaint. How can anyone talk about the previous two district championships at Augusta without crediting the legend that is Brent Bach? I don't want to take anything away from Coach Hinson. The dude can coach his little butt off. But this "postseason magic" can take away from what Brent Bach did against Mason County and I believe it has for many.

Clopay and the school are virtually the only real employers in our town. Closing the school in the mid 90's would have changed our town and probably for the worse. This is all good conversation. Our athletic clubs would have been and would be very excellent. But this conversation is getting old. Too many people worked hard to keep our school open then and many more have worked hard to get the school to where it is today.
