  1. lol. Now about Cronin and Bostic. Area you aware of that situation?
  2. The same Scott County team that was destroyed by about 30 points by Dunbar recently. Next.
  3. Yes, and I saw them play the 9th Region team. And I know Owen County is better than either Madison Central or Covington Catholic this season. They just happened to lose to a very good South Oldham team tonight.
  4. My statement is shared by many about Covington Catholic in this forum. I didn't realize you are a 9th Region fan until now, so I get why you are upset by my observation. Dayton Green Devils = 9th Region. I should have guessed!
  5. Have you even seen Owen County play this season? Or do you just make snark comments to draw attention to your website?
  6. I was just texted Gametime is the UC homer, not you. My mistake. Do you know about the Mick Cronin and Curtis Bostic drama since we are going into another topic?
  7. I'm sure the fan base of Owenton and that county are just going to love you for that snark. Remember I'm a fan of the Oldham County schools, so I just offer an objective opinion on Owen County. You're spewing the hate on Carson Williams and Owen County...wow!
  8. Wow. Your continued hate for Carson Williams and Owen County resonates. Are you the UC homer, or is that Gametime? I can't remember.
  9. Block-Charge is the toughest call for refs at any levels. Carson is so big and strong many times he will get the short end of those calls. I don't think officiating played a role tonight. It was two very good teams going at it, and South Oldham made a few more plays in the final quarter. Clutch shooting by Dylan Snook really did it for the Dragons!
  10. Have you paid attention? DeSales is in the semis! Just look. I'm not joking.
  11. Yes, DeSales, them of 20 losses this season. DeSales is two wins away from winning the 6th Region!
  12. The 6th Region is not good this year. DeSales might win it, for land's sake. I saw Covington Catholic against Madison Central. They are a solid team, very good guards, no post presence at all. They are well coached, but not very athletic and tight defense on the lefty guard who scores for them might derail them in a hurry. Just an opinion from seeing them once this year and at last year's state tournament.
  13. I saw Covington Catholic against Madison Central this season. Good guard play, no inside game to speak of. Carson Williams would have had his way inside with them. They are not the best team in this state by a long shot. You will see in a couple of weeks once they are down at Rupp playing. I think they will win the 9th Region, but they are not going to win the state.
  14. LIKE LIKE LIKE. So right, ColonelMike. If you really enjoy the electric atmosphere of high school basketball, a frenzied crowd, inexpensive concessions, etc., head down to Henry County for the 8th Region. I've never been to the arena up in N.Ky. either but it sounds like from many of the posters here it's not a place everyone is sold on for the 9th Region. Thank goodness we don't have that kind of issue in the 8th Region. Henry County does a spectacular job hosting our event in the 8th Region! The players and fans love it, and we still have lots of games before our champion is decided next week.
  15. The crowd was just electrifying for both teams, what a night in the Henry County gym. As for the officials, I thought they did a very good job in a physical game. South Oldham utilized several defenses on Carson, and as I suspected, they made the entry passes hard to deliver in the first half. Owen County made some good adjustments at the half and started finding Carson more often on the block, and he scored 26 in the second half. But I thought the refs were fine, did not call too many fouls, let them play and decide it the way it should be. Owen County actually missed a lot of free throws or this would have been even closer.
  16. You guys at Owen County have a great team and an awesome fan base. Congratulations on a fantastic season. It's always tough to accept a loss in the post season for any of us. I still think Owen County is one of the best teams in the state and could have won the whole thing if they could have got out of the 8th Region. No one has a better player than Carson Williams, and his second half tonight was sensational. Since I've married into the Oldham County school system years ago, you know my heart was with South Oldham tonight. I wish Owen County was in another region tonight because I believe they could have easily won several other regions close to us (6th, 9th, examples) with the talent you guys have on that roster. I hate to see Carson Williams great career in Owenton come to an end. He will be a great college player and we will all miss seeing him in the 8th Region.
  17. I don't think this hurts his chances one bit. He had 38 points and lots of rebounds. I think he will be the choice when it's announced.
  18. I talked with several of the Owen County fans after the game, and they were gracious in defeat. Like any fan, they had a few complaints but I thought the officials were fine. The ones I spoke to were heartbroken as you can understand. Maybe a fan or two yelled at the refs as they left the floor, but nothing I would call unusual.
  19. Pictures of crowd for the SOHS/Owen County game at this twitter link with Elliott Pratt of the Oldham Era. @Era_Pratt
  20. South Oldham faces Collins in the semifinals next Monday. Collins pulled off one of the most remarkable comebacks I've seen in the first game. They were down 14 points, forced overtime and defeated Simon Kenton to advance. Great night of basketball at Henry County!
  21. The Dragons slay the King! Wow, what a game! South Oldham was 1 of 9 from three-point range at half and still in the game. Then Carson Williams scores 26 of his 38 points in the second half. And South Oldham still pulled away for a great victory, one of the best 8th Region games ever. Dylan Snook hit huge shots and had 16 points for South Oldham. He nailed a pair of big three-pointers that sealed the win. Jacob Bray and Joe Griffin and Grant Williams all with 15 points and big plays for South Oldham. I thought the Dragons needed to hit 15 three-pointers, they only made about seven or eight and still won. Great effort by both teams, crowd was deafening in the fourth quarter. Congratulations to Owen County for a fantastic season. A special salute to Carson Williams, who was a monster again tonight with 38 points. South Oldham did a great job on him the first half, but Williams poured in 26 in the second half. What a great player and classy young man.
  22. It will cost more to attend the 9th Region Tournament than it does to put a kid through college! My kid's meals at UK cost less than the concessions at the 9th Region!
  23. Sounds like someone is getting rich up there by gouging people's wallets. I would hope the 9th Region fans refuse to buy the concessions at that arena, will send a message. I would hope most people with an ounce of common sense would pass on those concession prices even if it were Bruce Springsteen in concert! But for a high school basketball game, they are robbing people. No wonder so many on these forums are advocating taking it back to Holmes and Conner. They should consider getting together and boycotting this arena as well if they are robbing good people's wallets like this. Wow. I'm heading up to Henry County and the 8th Region where you don't have to worry about paying $100.00 to take a family to a regional tournament.
  24. $9.00 hot dogs?!?! You are not serious I hope.
