It ought to make for an interesting JV game tomorrow. I'm trying to decide if I want to go watch one somewhere. This might be the one. I assume it's a SK?

I have had deep thoughts about this. I don't necessarily think that SK's defense is that bad. Yes, giving up 53 to HHS is not good but I firmly believe that SK walked into this game thinking that it would be a CAKE walk. I also don't think that they were prepared for how good the HHS offense really is. (I saw that for myself tonight.) Gosney is an athlete. SK thumped HHS last year for the most part because of Hergott's 6 INT's. This HHS team is better and Gosney is a way better QB now than Hergott will ever be. SK has held a couple good teams to lower point totals. They have a lot of work to do though to get anywhere near last year's SK defense.

Can't decide what was a more exciting game. The SK HHS game or the BW HC game.

They absolutely did. I'm shocked. In all truthfulness I can't figure out whether the SK defense is that porous or Highlands offense is better than what I thought. I just picked up some hot sauce for my crow at Kroger. I will say that I was really surprised by the Highlands line. They won the line of scrimmage for the first 3 quarters and exposed the SK defense badly.

Absolutely horrid defense by both teams. I'm eating crow right now over my score prediction. Had no idea that either A. Highlands offense was this good or B. Simon's defense is that bad. Somebody help me.

This is a disgusting display of defense. Simon cannot tackle.

I will admit that every team is able to be beaten at some point even the mighty Trinity, however, September 23rd in Ft. Thomas will not be close. I stand by my numbers for this game. All of the unknowns with the making of an upset are known in this matchup and it isn't happening unless there's a natural disaster or every SK varsity player can't play for some reason. The SK JV then might still put a W on the little blue birds. The fact that you're a Michigan fan doesn't surprise me. I have relatives who are from Ann Arbor and they are delusional about most football related topics as well. LOL!!! I cheer for the Suckeyes one day a year.

First of all, I will concede that an Elder vs. SK game might not be a good morale booster for the Pioneer faithful HOWEVER this thread is about what will happen on Friday night in Ft. Thomas and the numbers surrounding it. It's not a place to dream. If you want to do that go play fantasy football. Secondly, if you read post 127 you will see that I didn't leave Scott County out by any means. Don't be selective in what you read. Read it all the way through.

First of all I don't recall ever having commented on the CovCath/Highlands game last year but if I did and you can find it I will concede. Good luck on that one. Secondly, if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts.... Should I go on. The numbers don't lie. Highlands may be back sometime in the future but it isn't gonna be on Friday September 23, 2016.

SC's opponent's records are a combined 14-9. This includes Elder which probably gives Scott County a leg up for a bit BUT SK'S opponent's records are a combined 15-8. So opponents records are pretty similar. The best opponents for Scott County have been Lafayette and Elder and they wussied out of the Lafayette game but that is a different thread. The best opponents for SK have been Conner and Cooper with Ryle coming up. I think the schedule strength is pretty similar. Hopefully we find out head to head and can put this all to rest. Right now I'm going back to predicting a beat down for the little blue birds on Friday night.

Again, SK's average points per game is higher than Scott County's albeit by 5 points with Scott County playing one half less of football but it is what it is. Who says Lafayette doesn't shut the Cardinals down in the 2nd half. In addition, Scott County is a predominantly run team (BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS) over being a pass/run balanced team. SK is very good at both. Highlands is in trouble.
