State had better pay attention to W KY area, The Thisley kid is real deal, makes all the catches. Several other sophomores had big years around here also, Vonn Williams at RB was best runner in area, Will Warren another sophomore QB had over 2100 yards passing and 32 td's, Nick Mills made catch after catch, Noah Todd disrupted offensive backfields all year long. I think you'll hear these names a lot over next few years, (hopefully in rest of KY)!

I agree with MHs cardinal. I expect Owensboro catholic to be good. They return in my opinion the best returning Qb/RB duo in the state. These 2 should keep most any team honest. Also return excellent receiver (mills) DL (Todd) and big lineman (hall). If they can come up with some other guys to catch the ball and a few decent lineman they should be a tough out. Need some help on D, but they seem to figure that out. I'd expect them to get to Mayfield again and roll the dice. The 2 sophomores at Qb and Rb are very good. I'd expect them both to be back much bigger, stronger and smarter.

Big red diesel. Oc is not as fast as last year, no real deep threat. As long as off coord can not get to antsy this team is built for 7-12 yard completions and 4-5 yards a carry. Been living on this kind of drives all year followed by a few big shots here and there. If the mayfield corners are very fast OC may have a hard time creating any separation which can make it tough. OC has maybe 2-3 kids under a 4.8 40 and that may be generous. But they do have kids with big hearts and no quit. Hopefully OC has a few tricks up their sleeves and the young bucks rise up. I bet we have this conversation all week. That's what makes good high school football so fun! Plus I appreciate nobody on here slamming anyone. Nice adult back and forth. Nice job guys!

Yes Ive heard Arnett is faster than you'd think. Honestly Big RedDiesel, i hope that we play well, that its a great game and that nobody on either team gets hurt. Seen to many kids helped off the field lately. I obviously want to win, but just hope that if we don't its interesting enough to be a huge step forward for the OC young guys.

North Hardin was good that night. I can't speak to their other games. They had a scrambling QB who was everywhere making plays and defensively i thought they had a very good and well executed game plan. In my opinion they were as good as anybody we played all year on that night including Owensboro. It was close, N hardin played well, OC dropped ball crossing end zone line which negated a td and had another one ruled not in also. Not making excuses really, because i was very impressed w N Hardin just stating what happened.

Catholic is young, to be honest its gonna take a herculean effort to pull this off. They are good, but young. Sophomore QB Will Warren 6ft3 225lbs, Von Williams sop RB 6ft1 185lbs, Nick Mills sop WR 5ft 10 170lbs, Sam Harrington soph WR 6ft3 185lbs, Noah Todd soph DE 6ft2 210lbsand Jayden Hall 6ft4 250lbs lineman are all key components, with Yay Yay Gray 5ft 8 soph wr 150lbs getting minutes. There are several other soph and a few freshman who find themselves on field for extended snaps. Have 3-4 senior WR/RB who are huge for OC and quite frankly they need their best game for OC to shock Mayfield. Tre Green sr wr is a player, he's gotta catch the ball and stay in the game, Weston Jacobs is sort of the heart and soul of team, works hard, great defender can play anywhere. Hayden Hartz has been big at times on offense and defense, and Maddux Richardson can hurt you on offense or defense, his defensive play has been off the charts. Line play I think can be our strength. These guys led by Maloney Weaver and Arnold have really stepped up. My point with this? Yes Mayfield is great, Yes catholic is young, sometimes young guys don't know they are supposed to lose....This group thinks like that, a very "why not us attitude" If OC has a weakness it may be on D in a few areas, but those kids play hard and have a bend don't break attitude. I think OC will score points, just got to make sure its enough. If the offensive sophomore group of Warren, Williams and Mills can stay healthy and get rolling I like our chances to hang around and make it interesting. These kids have come leaps and bounds this year and i believe that the RB and QB are the best in our area here (i.e. Daviess CO, Muhlenburg, Ohio co, Owensboro area etc.) They have put up big numbers and wins over all the teams here and are 11-1 currently. My gut says mayfield has to much senior leadership and talent with those guys, but my heart says OC can hang with them for awhile and then anything can happen. I love this stuff. Cant wait!

I was at game. OC didn't play their best, but found a way to win. Young QB threw 3 picks 1 at end of half was a hail mary type play to the end zone, the one in the end zone in the early 4th qtr was only one that really hurt. NH was a good team, or at least looked the part during this one. QB was a scrambling stud, made at least 4-5 third and 10+ into 1st downs. big wide receiver #7 was excellent as well. Big school, lots of good players. Do i think OC will beat Mayfield? Not really. But...never would have believed they'd beat Owensboro either. Team finds a way to win. As an Owensboro area fan, I hope Mayfield thinks it will be a blowout and overlooks them, if so get ready for a game. Young team with loads of 10th graders are learning and experiencing first time things every game they play. Eventually Mayfield will experience a first also, a loss. This year, maybe not, maybe so, but it will be interesting.

Based on what I've seen and getting further along in season where we have more team records and stats to look at: Theres are my 4-5 I've seen in the West in no certain order, its a mixed bag of upperclassmen and underclassmen Arnett-Mayfield Burns-Caldwell Clark Payne-BG Will Warren-Owensboro Catholic My honorable mentions and tough to leave off list Rex Henderson-really nice player, better runner than passer, plays hard Cash Jones-fun to watch Adam Bouchard-has regressed a bit from last year in my eyes, or maybe just had better targets-hasnt won the games to be in top 4 or 5 discussion Langhi-big tough kid, big arm, just seems like a TE to me when i saw him vs OHS If somebody knows the grades for all these guys Id love to know, just for keeping up with them

Gonna be fun. In the West you have maybe 4 teams that have the ability to make some noise. MayField-What hasn't been said, they are the king until somebody takes their crown O Cath-amazing what they've done, replaced loads of talent with sophomores at key spots and just finished up district play at 8 and 1- The sophomore RB Williams and sophomore QB Warren, have stepped up and delivered in big ways. Both are at or near the top in 2a state in yards, td's etc...probably most balanced attack they've had in a long time. Butler County-Dont look past this team, they play hard, hit hard and have some talent spread out on the field. Not gonna be an easy out for whoever gets them. If they play as hard as did against O Cath they will give somebody a long night. Glasgow-seems to be getting better every week. Guess whoever comes out go these 4 will play LCA CAL or desales great division!

Yes. Tough to deny that! I heard he was good. I hope to get to see him and some of these others that I haven't seen play next season. Sounds like a nice bunch of qb's in western kentucky!

Agree with Burns and Henderson. Haven't seen all these kids play. Also agree with Rambo4343 on Owensboro Catholic, they have a 6ft3 about 220lbs freshman supposedly taking over the reins. Haven't seen him in much varsity but JV was strong FWIW. Like the Bouchard kid a lot, but agree it'll be interesting to see how he does with all those players gone.
