  1. I agree Purple. Conventional wisdom says the Colonels will be over matched and running room will be hard to find. But anybody that's seen these teams play the past 3 years knows conventional wisdom goes right out the window. Something about the Red Devils just brings out the absolute best in the Colonels. In 2012 the teams were ranked around the same and it was supposed to be a good game. The Colonels ended up winning 49-21, and if I'm not mistaken at the end of the 1Q Henderson was up 42-0 and the subs were in the rest of the way. And I know last year going into the game Henderson Co. was pretty terrible and Owensboro was supposed to destroy them and the Colonels came away with a 44-18 win over them. Throw the records out when the teams play this game. Can't wait!
  2. Can't say enough good things about Damion Carter. He probably gets over looked a lot because of Henderson Co.'s record but the kid is a work horse. Rushed for 163 & 3tds on 36carries against Daviess. Already the all time leading rusher of a program that's had ALOT of really good backs. Needs just 255 more yards on the season with at least 2 more games remaining to be the program's first 4,000 yard rusher. I like his chances.
  3. All in all was a really well played game by Henderson. I agree with the statement that Henderson expected to win this game. Daviess Co. is just usually a team that doesn't fare well against Henderson Co. I really thought if they were finally going to beat the Colonels this would be the year with them being relatively good compared to their standard and Henderson being relatively down this year. To me it really shows that wins and losses can be deceiving. Daviess did have the big win over O'cath and they deserve a lot of credit for that, but while they were playing non district cupcakes like Hancock Co. & Warren East. Henderson was preparing themselves to peak for district games by playing the gauntlet of Reitz, Caldwell, Gibson Southern, & Christain Co.
  4. Good win for the Colonels. 7th consecutive victory against Daviess Co. Hendersons run game and time of possession absolutely dominated the game. 3 yards and a cloud of dust the whole game. Colonels clinch #2 seed in 6A district 1. Guaranteeing them a home playoff game. Carter 163 yds rushing with 3td's.
  5. It has the makings to be a good game but Il take the Colonels by 2tds. I know a lot of people are down on Henderson Co. this year but the truth is their schedules been murderer's row. Rather than simply looking at their records I like to look at the records of the teams they've played. Henderson's opponents they've played thus far are 46-16. Davies County's opponents 28-26.
  6. As much as I hate to admit it I can't see Henderson staying within 3td's in this one. McCracken just has too much talent this year. As far as the statement about Henderson the past 2 years and the coaching change I will say that I can't comment on the level of talent based off projections because I have no idea how successful these kids were in middle school. So it is possible that it's been a few years of down talent. And I'm not one to usually be to vocal about a coach. I believe they can only control so much, their not playing the game. But with all that being said I think most of Henderson as well as myself have been very underwhelmed by Coach Lewis. Like i said he may not be at fault if it's a lack of talent. But their was a lot of expectations for him here based off his success at Reitz. Hopefully it gets turned around sooner or later.
  7. Colonels score 34 straight to come back and win. Damion Carter 260 yards rushing 4td's.
  8. Colonels 28 Mustangs 12 5 min and change left in 4Q
  9. The Colonels head to Muhlenberg County this Friday for a district game. Their schedules to this point have been pretty much polar opposites. The Colonels opponents thus far are a combined 28-8, the Mustangs opponents 6-23. I think despite their records Henderson beats Muhlenberg pretty handily. Henderson Co. 42 Muhlenberg Co. 7
  10. I think I agree with everyone here in picking Caldwell, but a upset by Union Co. wouldn't entirely surprise me. Their programs heading in the right direction and I believe the Boston hire was a very good one. It''ll probably just take a couple years before they can compete with a team of this caliber. With all that being said I'll take the Tigers by 2 Td's.
  11. Hi guys. I'm new here to BGP and looking forward to having some lively discussions with yall. I'm just a all around sports fan but high school football is my true love. I'm from Henderson and played football there. I really like to keep tabs on my Colonels, but I also keep an eye on some other local teams as well mainly Webster & Union Co. Looking forward to getting to know yall. Go Cols!
