This game won't even be close. Mayfield by a mile.

The CAL/DS game on Friday night was over in the first quarter, and a penalty and turnover decided the outcome. DS was up 7-0, CAL returned the kickoff for a TD, called back for penalty. The very next play, pick 6 by DS, 14-0. DS broke their will. I can guarantee one thing, you won't break the Cardinals' spirit. They have played from behind in 6 games this year. You better be prepared for a battle, and you better bring it on every down for 48 minutes. OC has an offense that makes DS offense look like something from the 1940's. DS has been shutout TWICE this year. DS will be lucky to score against Mayfield. Speed is a killer weapon on the gridiron, but only if you know how to utilize its potential. I will let you compare Mayfield's past success on the field against Fern Creek's, Butler's, Ballard's, and Fairdale's. Let us know who you think is the better coached and disciplined team. I expect Mayfield will expose some weaknesses in the DS secondary, weather permitting. It looks like it's going to be a sloppy field Friday night. Make sure your coaches walk the field before the game. Plenty of high/low spots out there to trip a guy.

Kennemore had a great game. Bright was stymied for 3 quarters, and then it looked like the OC defensive line ran out of gas. So much for the theory of Mayfield playing 11 guys both ways, and getting tired. The OC line was much better than I thought going into the game. They played their hearts out. #34 Boarman was a beast. #3 Morton was fast, he dropped a couple of passes that could have made a huge impact on the game. Great game OC!

There really is a Santa Claus! I asked him for a Colts win, and he produced. Great win Colts. I have been waiting for this game since last December. I hope you guys saved some for next Friday!

One question devils58. All the bigger schools say they have an advantage by not playing guys both ways. Some OC fans have been saying only 1 OC guy plays both ways, while Mayfield plays 4 or 5 both ways. Now you seem to be saying "Any team that can use their starting defense as a scout team has a built in advantage." I'm confused.

Bright in the backfield is a dangerous weapon, but Mayfield has 4 WR's who will take it to the house. Mayfield can and will pass the ball. On a side note, the weather looks great for Friday night. Around 50 degrees at game time, 4 mph winds, with no chance of rain.

CAL and OC are tough opponenets. Here's the clincher for me. DeSales-- Two time defending 2A State Champs. Mayfield-- Three time defending 1A State Champs.

Has OC made that much progress the last 4 years? I still believe Mayfield has way too much for OC to handle. Can't wait for Friday night! Safe travels from Owensboro, watch out for the deer.

Danville and NCC in the East. DeSales will not have 4 turnovers again. They will get more pressure on the QB. I like DeSales by 7. Too many weapons for Mayfield, OC can't control all of them. Mayfield by 2-3 TD's.

I think Mayfield has come from behind 5 games this year? PT, McCracken Co., Corbin, Murray, and Caldwell Co. Won 4 of those games, lost 1 in O.T.

Danville looks good, and I would never count out NCC either. 6 teams have a legitimate shot at the title. Who wants it more? The homer in me is taking Mayfield.

Thanks for these game breakdowns ApolloFan98! I enjoyed the radio show too. I know this is a different season, but the last 4 years, Murray owned OC. And guess what, Mayfield dominated Murray each of those years. It was good to see OC get the monkey (Murray) off their back. But now they have to contend with the 800 pound gorilla in the room.

Come on DeSales! This should be an epic clash between two great teams!
