I think it's the eye test. I don't have a problem with someone being ranked ahead of us with less titles. But not giving extra weight to each additional title is dumb when the ultimate goal is. STATE TITLE not playoff or district wins. That's all.

Than the list should be titled differently. Maybe "Greatest Tradition in KY HS Football". When you win the titles is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Generally speaking every team had an opportunity every year to win the title. You're saying because we did ours in 12 year span they are less valuable than if they had been done over 50 years. I'm not saying we should be ranked in order of titles. I'm saying that 5-10 more district wins over a long period should not carry enough weight to be ranked ahead of a team that achieved ultimate success when that other team didn't. This is fun.

I'm talking hypothetically just spreading Boyles titles out...they wouldn't have any more/less district wins.

Okay...same scenario, so since 1997 (Chuck Smith Era thru present day era) Boyle has won 2 more titles than BG and sits 4 spots behind?!?! Doing this rating system is fine but at some point doesn't logic have to allow for adjustments? The college football playoff committee does this. Maybe gchs should too?!?! Honestly I don't really care, I'm just in the mood to argue.

You didn't ask me but.... How the alignment goes has nothing to do with the schools...it is what it is. So although some of those earlier titles might have been harder to win than the ones now, it doesn't hold anymore prestige in my eyes. In other words, I think Belfry deserves the recognition of the 2015 title...Boyle could have won it but didn't.

Pikeville, Corbin and PT should be ranked behind Boyle. I'm sure there are some in the Top 10 I'm gunna add to that as well.

Notre Dame because of their amount of national titles. What about UCONN Basketball? Would they be in the top 7/8 greatest college basketball programs? Their first title was 1999 (same as Boyle) and they've won 4 since...Boyle 7.

If you were asked to name the top 5 programs in the state would Corbin or PT be in your thought process? Would Boyle or Male? I rest my case.

This is a discussion board. Some of you need to understand that this is NEVER personal. If you are going to post stuff like this ranking of top programs you should be able to take the criticism that comes with it. I think it's cool but District Titles should have very low value considering how stacked some are compared to others and how State Titles are the goal.

I agree with being given too much credit for only winning one title but that's easily fixed by giving more weight to each additional title. For Boyle County and Male to be ranked where they are is just stupid. There better be some dang good programs left.

My buddy was told that an exception could be made for certain circumstances which I call bullcrap on to. I think my friend is just repeating what he was told but that it may not be true.

Your last sentence is what I would think but my buddy said it came from someone from Belfry and sounded pretty legit. Economy was the blame. Update us if you hear...that is a shame for the community.

A buddy of mine heard Belfry HS has had a pretty steep drop off in attendance very recently and has put in a request to the KHSAA to drop to 2A. I'm calling bullcrap. Any truth from you Pirates on here?
