So you're saying LCA's QB played as well as he did the previous week? No way. Yes Hendrix had a special game, he's a special player. He followed it up with a special game. One of his pic's was so badly overthrown, Hendrix just had to jog to pick it off. Heck he had 10 yards of separation on the WR and he was still jogging.

Not sure, I read that from a LCA fan in the results thread when Cooper beat them. I was at the game because Ryle had a bye week. LCA didn't have a chance. I actually think Cooper would have won even with the their #1 QB and the Lineman playing. My point was that when comparing the score and Ryles win against Coopers win against LCA is difficult. The game might have been closer.

He was horrible vs Cooper. Overthrew everything. Yes he played great the week before, but vs Cooper he was horrible. I give credit to Cooper's Defense. They were stout vs the run and gang tackled the crafty WR (#3) on the short WR screens. But all of Hendrix's pics were on overthrows. As good as Cooper's D is, LCA's QB made them that much better. Cooper's D is tough as nails.

Again, Lex Cath had 2 of their O Lineman out. So apples to oranges. Cooper gang tackles very well and did so against LCA Not to discredit Coopers stout defense, but LCA did them a bunch of favors by overthrowing just about everything. Hendrix had like 3 pic's on overthrows. If Ryle gang tackles TCA and keep Hendrix from going over the top, they have a solid chance at winning. If they don't, it could be a long night. I still give Ryle the edge over Cooper on the run game. They have 4 solid RBs, everyone stays fresh.

Nathan Brown had like 4 TD's and 300-400 yds passing in the nasty cold, rain last week. He is really getting it done for a 1st year QB. I'm a Ryle guy. I'm hoping for the best, but Cooper scares me quite a bit. It's gonna be hard to contain Hendrix. Brown has proven he can get the ball over the top to him. I want Ryle to win, but won't be surprised a bit if they don't. I'll leave it at this, whoever wins will deserve it.

Lex Cath had two starting O lineman out vs Cooper as well. Comparing the Lex Cath team vs Cooper and ryle is apples and oranges. Same Offense, but zero execution vs Cooper. I will give Cooper Credit, they gang tackled the crafty wide receiver for Lex Cath. Took him out of the game. But Lex Cath didn't utilize him the way they did vs Ryle because of they didn't have Legend Brumbaugh (QB)

Congrats young Raiders on your pursuit to 3 consecutive undefeated seasons on the Freshman level.

Ryle's schedule was completed last year. If you looked at it then, nobody in their right mind would have thought their opponents records would be 5 wins total this year at this point. It may look like a cupcake schedule now, but last year it didn't.

I've actually connected Cooper's water supply all the way over to California. They need the water more than the field does. I bought Ace Hardware out of water hoses.

GRC has lost alot of games, but they put 21 pt's on Scott Cty, that stands for something. Ryle should win, but don't be surprised if it's closer than you think. I'm not a pesamist, but sometimes I plan for the worst and rejoice in the better/best : )

Cooper's D is good, a bunch of ball hawks. They have proven that for the past two years. They were real solid on the WR screens last night. I was hoping that LC would try to take some chances running the ball and trying to get to the edge, but they didn't. I also agree with you, I wouldn't count LC out as well.

But no credit to Ryle's D. They have been a 2nd half D just about every game this season. Listen, I give Cooper all the respect in the world. They are stout up front on the O and D lines. Great athletes, very, very dangerous. Nathan Brown is playing great, he's another great athlete. But it kind of sounds like you are looking past Ryle. Trust me, Ryle is not looking past Cooper. The coaches are too good to do that. They are too good to look past George Roger's Clark.

Keep in mind that Ryle had to play against Lex Cath's #1 qb Legend Brumbaugh (sp?) He got hurt the next week I believe. He is a clear difference maker on that team.

I coulda swore I heard Dixie's freshman team lost to Ryle last night 26-7. Ryle's Freshman team is pretty good, I figured the score's spread would have been greater

O'hara is capable, with more snaps would improve with each one. But you're right, they could have gone either way. Probably would have pounded the run game more without Morgan. 4 good running backs. Many teams don't have that luxury. I may be skirting the question. But they could have gone 5-0, 4-1 or 3-2. But all are improvements over the last two years.

That question cannot be answered, Morgan is there, right? Morgan is Talent, like all the other posts suggest. Ryle's success is talent driven along with a coaching staff that is moulding that talent. Good Fit for system and talent. What would Morgan be if he didn't have all the skilled players. He is spreading the ball nicely. Multipe receivers from RB's, TE's and WR's. Last year, they keyed and tried to force the ball to one or two players. The big play was try to get a jump ball reception to a 6' 5" WR. This year it's different. Multiple weapons, plus the 4 headed RB platoon. Yes Morgan does make a difference, but so does Ashley, Beagle, Pogliano, Long, England, Bateman, McGreagor, Chisholm, to name a few. Plus more. Everyone thought their Oline would be susceptible is holding their own. They are even playing 2 sophmores at O Line and not seeing any drop off. The running game is producing.

You are right, Ryle's Freshmen Team suits up what appears to be 35 kids or so. Down from Last years 50 kids or so. However, this years Freshman team is still undefeated so the Talent is still there. The 4 past Freshman classes have only lost twice combined. The past three to this point are undefeated. I agree with all the talent threads. Morgan was a Union Raider as well until he left for his Hazard stint. Coach Engler's offense is a fit for this group of skilled players. Coach Wolf keeps churning out Defensive players that are undersized, but always seem to get the job done when need be. They are definitely a 2nd half defense. But it definitely is Talent driven success.

All 4 RB's are really good. Chisholm is no surprise. Great kid, great work ethic, great attitude, great field vision. Scores a TD, hands the ball to the Ref like he's been there before. Runs over to his lineman and congrat's them all.

I am a transplant from out of state and moved to Union/Ryle district. For the life of me, I could never figure out the disdain for Ryle kids an sports teams. I have witnessed not both boys and girls programs at Ryle. The parents are first class and the coaches are first class at this school. I think the disdain is the perceived affluence and the "triple crown mafia" mystique. I think those times are changing with the change in coaching regimes lately in all sports at Ryle. I have witnessed nothing but hard working kids that get along and play/gel well with one another. The AD has done a fine job with the new coaching regimes (FB, men's BB and Girls BB among others)

I live in Union and a Ryle fan, The UFO comment above is hilarious !!. I am not judging Cambpell Cty as I think they have a whole lot of young talent and size coming up in the future, they will be fine. I agree with your statement about the youth programs. Some of Ryle's success has to do with the Union Raiders program (Morgan was part of until he moved to Hazard the past 2 seasons) This years team is the first year that all 4 classes are from the Union Raiders. (with some BCPWFL as well) But much of the success is the kids buying into Coach Engler's program.

Lex Cath has a Guard on the Oline that is very small. #70 if I recall. Although he does a great job getting under the shoulder pads, I wonder if the Jags line up Marcus Watson over him in an attempt to exploit the size match up.

I'm pretty sure the coaches and players aren't overlooking Cooper. They aren't overlooking George Rogers Clark.
