Here we go again. Kentucky high school teams DO NOT have long travel times compared to other states. I remember traveling from Durango Colorado to FT Collins on a school bus for a playoff game. A bus trip that took 9 hours, going over Wolf Creek pass, up HWY 285 and thru the mountains and down into the front range and the Denver area and then north to FT Collins . The longest distance in this state for ANY team might be 4-5 hours.

I think Logan County should be favored in this matchup but Etown is a rising team with young players that won a district title this season and should be much improved next season with only 9 seniors and QB Ethan Shelton, RB Antonio Kinzer, and WR Jace Hagy, and leading tackler Darian Bryant, all Sophomores, returning next season.

I think that Elizabethtown has a better defense than Franklin Simpson and maybe just as good on offense. We shall see? Elizabethtown is a young team with most skill position players (QB/RB), sophomores.

When I look at the quote from "The Scribe" that the Logan County defense is pretty good, I see on the KHSAA website that they are giving up an average of 20 points per game? Elizabethtown is giving up an average of 24 points per game. Sounds like a high scoring affair that hopefully comes down to the last play of the game to determine a winner. Looking forward to this one!

It is no accident that under Tyler Mattingly, the Panthers have made a dramatic turn- around from the past 2 years. He was a significant part of the South Warren team winning multiple state titles and played a significant role in Central Hardin having the best years in program history when he was the offensive coordinator. I wouldn't be surprised if the Panthers win this game.
