  1. Central Hardin comes off of a convincing win over an inferior opponent in Warren Central on Friday. Not sure you can take much away from that game other than Central Hardin needed a win and this could be a confident booster for a team that had lost 3 in a row. The winner of this game the last few years has won District 2. What a contrast in styles, Central Hardin runs, runs, and runs some more while North Hardin's run game has been almost non-existent, as they rely on QB Durrelle Loggins arm to get it to the WR duo of Shaun Boykins and Ronald Lunz. North Hardin has the advantage in talent but has been a turnover machine this year with QB Loggins averaging a stunning 4 turnovers by way of interceptions and fumbles, per game this season. North Hardin struggled to generate offense against Barren County in the first half last week, but was able to score 2 touchdowns in the second half to pull away in the 4th quarter. My gut tells me that Central Hardin will be able to run the ball just enough to win the time of possession and limit the high-flying offense of North Hardin with minimal possessions. In the end, whomever wins the turnover battle will be able to come away with a win. Calpreps has CH winning by a slim margin.
  2. I'll take Bardstown in this matchup. John Hardin isn't there yet!
  3. Meade County goes for 2 to take the lead with 4 minutes to play, tries an unsuccessful onside kick and never gets the ball back in a crushing District defeat to PRP.
  4. Hope for the future? Hard to tell at the JV level. The type of offense that works at the JV level doesn’t necessarily translate to varsity football.
  5. After sleepwalking for the first half of Friday's game vs Breckinridge County and down 13-18, John Hardin came to life, aided by 2 pick sixes, and pulled away for a 37-18 win. John Hardin has amassed over 1,500 yards rushing thru six games but an abysmal 185 passing yards. Like I always say, they need to be more balanced on offense and improve the back end of their defense to post a winning season. Thomas Nelson is led by QB Zander Smith (408 passing yards), and Aiden Druck leads the way at the RB position with 133 yards. WR Zaine Smith and Cade Benningfield are top receivers with 169 and 138 yards respectively. John Hardin should roll in this matchup. My Prediction: John Hardin 38 Thomas Nelson 12
  6. North Hardin (1-4), faces District foe Barren County on Friday night. Barren County, (3-3), is led by QB Tate Spillman (758 passing yards). Spillman also leads the team in rushing yardage (375). WR Jaxson Byrd leads the team in receiving yards (268). North Hardin QB Durrelle Loggins leads the state in passing yardage but also leads the state in turnovers. North Hardin has the most talented players in the region but is a turnover machine, turning the ball over at a record pace. Loggins had 4 interceptions vs Bullitt East on Friday night. Although they can score, North Hardin is continually putting themselves behind in games with multiple turnovers that translate into points for their opponents. This will be the most talented team that Barren County has faced so far this season. North Hardin should be able to walk away from Barren County and win this one easily, even with the turnovers. My Prediction: North Hardin 42 Barren County 14
  7. Ther Central Hardin defense allowed Central RB Cortez Stone to rush for 206 yards on Friday night. QB Steven Smith and RB Cortez Stone dominated the second half of the game thanks to an offensive line that seemed to take over late in the 3rd quarter. The Central Yellowjackets ended up with 300 yards of total offense while allowing Central Hardin only 126 offensive yards. Central Hardin must establish the line of scrimmage and their running duo of Mason Gardner and Walker Meredith, against a team in Warren Central who has allowed nearly 1,000 yards on the ground thru six games. Warren Central is led by QB Zarionte Howard (348 passing yards), and RB Devonte Patterson (266 yards on the ground). I expect Central Hardin to snap its three- game losing streak and come out with a 2-3 TD advantage in this matchup.
  8. North Hardin continues their undisciplined play with turnovers, penalties and downright bad coaching.
  9. Central TD run from 3 yards out by Stone. 2pt conversion no good. 6:03 left in the game. Central 26 CH 17
