Why don't they have Ahlfeld or Huddy?

Mason Co was scheduled to play CovCath last month, but the game was cancelled. That would have been good test for them, if that's what they wanted. Any idea why that game was cancelled? Did Mason Co cancel?

Congrats to Mr. Obrien. Didn't realize this was something coming out so soon. Where is it posted?

Against common opponents (not counting the last Scott/Campbell game) Ballow has 7 goals, Schneider has 7 goals, Treadway has 7 goals, and Morgan 4. And, Ballow doesn't have Morgan assisting, which seems to be necessary for Scott. (All off of the KHSAA website. It was just done quickly, so could be wrong. Plus not sure what games were missed by the Scott players missed for red cards.)

What about Ballow at Cov Cath? I have only seen a few teams all year, so I can't comment on what I have seen from most of these players. However, he leads his team in goals and assists for arguably one of the more talented teams in N. Ky.

No goals in second half? A little surprising?

Saw another CovCath game last night. Wasn’t really much of a game. Sorry Simon Kenton. Really could/should have been worse. I would say Ballow didn’t have the impact compared to the earlier games I saw. Putting two first half shots right to the goalie, but I was rewarded with a treat by him in the second half as he lifted a pass to himself off of a bouncing through ball over the charging goalie, and casually slid it in for a goal. Kenney had a very good game winning most balls in the middle. His second goal was very good - powering the ball along the ground from the right side of the goal past the reach of the goalie and inside the left post. I understand it was senior night, but would like to have seen more of Day.

I thought their depth was supposed to overcome injuries. Is everyone healthy? If so, who can they least afford to lose at this point?

Curious to here from CCH fans about their teams chances this year in the post season. Can't be too happy with the results this year. Doesn't seem like they are heading in to the post season on an up-tick. After the Dixie win, losses to Highlands and tie at Ryle. Both down this year. Ties against East Central and Summit (who was missing players). I know expecations were high. What is not happening for them at this point?

Groinpull, I didn't make the CCH-Highlands game as you suggested. Too cold for me. Glad I missed it. Wouldn't have wanted to see the game you described. Curious why you say this game was ugly. I noticed that #11 and #12 were missing from CCH. I assume they are injured. Will they be back? CCH seemed to miss them last night. I thought #7 played hard when I watched him in the NCC game. Last night he played both hard, and was very effective. Defensively this was a worse performance. #1 for Boone really tested them, and it took a while for them to adjust to his speed and tenacity. As was mentioned on another thread, CCH is struggling to maintain clean sheets. I would think that would worry them. CCH should have had more goals, but they also gave some opportunities that they maybe shouldn't have to BC. In the end, it was probably about the right scoreline.

Groinpull, I said I would try to catch another game. Is this the one to watch?

I had noticed that Oldtimebaseball84 gives kudos to first time posters, but ignored mine. Should I take it personally?

Well, maybe I'll have to see another game. Just stating my opinion of what I saw. I was more impressed with the 4 down the middle than the 4 across the field. Not that they were not good.

I went to this game last night. I wanted to see if all of the CCH follower’s excitement was for good reason. They are good. Not as good as the ’11 team, but could be. They have some work to do. I also wanted to see the vaunted midfield. After watching I have a little different take on this team. I’ll preface this by saying this is the only game I have seen this year, so take it for what it’s worth. I thought the strength of this team was up the middle. #10 up top was very good I thought. Very heady player. I didn’t see him do much wrong last night. (Now I was a little biased last night watching him. I have a friend whose son plays for McNick, and he told me the same thing and told me to watch for him.) #11 in the middle changes the game for this team. When he was out this team didn’t seem to have the same threatening feel. Not sure why he sat so long. #16 seemed to be everywhere in the middle. Only negative was his first touch at times. Blond center back (sorry I don’t remember his number) was as good, or better, than the two highly touted NCC backs. Now the midfield is very good and I don’t want anyone to think I am downplaying that… probably as some have said “best in state.” I don’t have any way to judge. However from the posts, I had the impression that outside of the midfield this was an average team. #12 outside mid had some very good play as well. The two outside backs played well overall I thought. As has been mentioned, they need to defend the set pieces better. That will haunt them in a close game, as I guess it did at Trinity.
