Covington Catholic 1 East Central (IN) 1

Featured Replies

East Central scores early in the second half off of a corner (big surprise) and CCH equalizes late in the game off of a Parker Kenney header from a ball played in by Ryan Massie.

Colonels start the game without 5 starters. Darpel (foot) and Romes (concussion) both out with injury from the Scott game. Day, Schuh and Ballow all non-starters for whatever reason as well. A lot of pressure by CCH all half but they just cannot get the ball in the net consistently. Short post-season if that continues along w/ the major issues on set pieces.

Do they do shootouts or anything in HS to break a tie?

Only when there MUST be a winner... District seeding match, District Match, Regional Match and State Match.

I guess that it could also happen in a mid-season Tournament match if they need a winner determined for the next round.

Ok.......East Central broke several of the unwritten rules.......

1. Their fans took up all of the spots on the CCH side of the field........And in the stands........so fans had to intermingle. Wonder if they have issues with arguments in the stands? When you call out an opposing player and call them a cheap shot artist, when sitting next to their parent....expect issues.....

Were there issues?

Great constraint shown........

At this stage most fans should know, and do know, where to sit in the bleachers. Intermingling is clearly antagonistic.

Curious to here from CCH fans about their teams chances this year in the post season. Can't be too happy with the results this year. Doesn't seem like they are heading in to the post season on an up-tick. After the Dixie win, losses to Highlands and tie at Ryle. Both down this year. Ties against East Central and Summit (who was missing players). I know expecations were high. What is not happening for them at this point?

Personally.....not worried......

Injuries.....(6 starters out)

Coach looking to play different combinations and formations to get the palyers used to it and to see who plays best together and in which formations......All attributes to the record......against one of the toughest schedules in the area.

Getting ready to enjoy Senior night and then the post season.....

I thought their depth was supposed to overcome injuries. Is everyone healthy? If so, who can they least afford to lose at this point?

Love your optimism. I would like to see a little more consistency at this point.

Sam Romes (G) and Jacob Nurre (D) are out with concussions. This late in the season, I don't think they can afford to lose anyone.

CCH is not looking good going into post-season. Inability to cash in scoring opportunities and defend set pieces will be their downfall. It also seems clear to me that while they have a pretty solid roster, if they play more than 13-14 players in critical games, that will hurt them. Romes coming back healthy is critical for them and Darpel as well.
