  1. Either you know each other or Mr. Conflict Adverse is at it again....
  2. Second act.... permanent ball boy (home and away). Free snack and drink at half! I know, you're welcome.
  3. I do like this thought but the most difficult thing about this whole problem (whether in writing or not) is how do you monitor it? A lot of the "facts" that are brought up about this problem are so and so said he plays varsity, when we played them he played varsity, etc. Not knowing if there were circumstances outside of a coach's control (e.g., injuries occurred so pulled a player up for a game or two to start). It's not like we have a Freshman/JV based KHSAA website where we can see who played in a match, look at their grade, stats, etc. And by the way... I'd love to have a site that encompassed all squads. Look at records, stats, who played, schedule, etc. Someone take that idea and run with it. Thanks.
  4. But drum sticks on flipped over 5 gallon buckets and cowbells are permitted
  5. Campbell County: Goals - Augspurger and Dumaine | Assists - Augspurger and Weber Simon Kenton: Goals - Selimovic (2)
  6. I see your point but disagree with it. Use the Freshman Showcase in the begininning of the year to showcase your Freshman/FROSH, not the tournament. To Yellowcard's point there should be rules. What message are you sending the kids that have played for over half the season and now their minutes will be limited because kids are being dropped because they want the hardware? Yeah, kids say "Well so and so does it why can't we." "So what" would be my response... I want to see how my team that I've had throughout the season performs and how much we've improved against some of the best. Everyone wants to win, but at what cost... it's sad. Some of the new coaches don't understand it. Nathan (at Boone) made this mistake his first year with O'Hara. O'Hara asked if he could play with his friends, Nathan didn't see why not. All the comments got back to him and he hasn't done it since. And JV is defined... so there is the distinction between the two squads and the percentage of starting time. Again, to Yellowcard's point... more of a reason for it to be in writing.
  7. Unless I'm misinterpreting your definition of "class" the Freshman tournament isn't just for Freshman, it's the Freshman team. These teams consists of 7th through 9th graders. If you're a Freshman who is on the Varsity team (starter or coming off the bench) you should not be playing in that tournament. If you start over 50% of the matches for Varsity and you're not a senior (obviously) you should not be playing in the JV tournament. These are the unwritten rules amongst coaches that are not always abided by, especially some of the new coaches.
  8. Correct. District games have to end with a win for seeding purposes. First you go to sudden death overtime then PK's.
  9. You'd hope the coach can recognize the situation and pull him out when needed. To Rez's point... he's done if he gets one more. Maybe their coach should have done what Nathan did at Boone. Enough crap... you're out for 5 games. He did that for two of them and kicked another two off.
  10. It's more of a school policy... religion aside. There are public schools that require permission to practice or have games on Sunday.
  11. I completely agree. Year one... I get it. Year two... unacceptable. You did not see the amount of cards in prior years with Casey and he was around for a lot of the Juniors/Seniors today. Sure... you see the positive comments. Hard to be negative when you're winning.
  12. I agree. I don't want to get back into this discussion, but at some point the school has to step in if the coach isn't doing anything or what he is doing is not working. "Back in the day" before the 2 game suspension there were some upperclassmen who were hot heads on my team. The coach made sure to address any issue that was unacceptable, but the school stepped in to make sure that point was heard. They would add an extra 1-2 game suspension on top of what the State gave you. It gets your attention quick when it's your last year and you saw a change in the upperclassmen.
  13. Try to soften it a bit and OTB comes in to hammer the point home. Of course his wisdom cannot go unrecognized as he is correct.
  14. Mr. and Mrs. Christian are great people who absolutely love the game and have a great foundation that supports NKY soccer (boys and girls), but it is a little brutal at times.
  15. Highlands will step up for this match, but in the end CCH is too good. Will be tight but CCH takes it.
  16. Now now... let's wait till 2:30 before we take him away from his classroom studies by logging onto this app.
  17. Ryle 2-1. Ryle has more team speed. It's on their field. They should out possess Cooper slowly wearing them down.
  18. Looks like the Commission stepped in. UK probably isn't too fond of his recent cards. He's only verbally committed... so might want to start treading lightly (no pun intended of course)
  19. I do think this rule needs to be looked into. I get they're trying to protect the keeper. I get the perception of contact being dangerous (same is applied to players).... but how many times have you seen a keeper initiate the contact and they get the call? What about the 50/50 ball in the air when both jump straight up and there is contact on both parties?
  20. I hear you. Lot of new faces this year and not ones of quality.
  21. Well said. Take your starters out (as many as you can). Regardless of the team or player... if one of them has the majority of the goals and you're winning you pull him.
  22. Hope this doesn't turn into another Scott/Boone game (sorry to bring this back up). Hopefully the assignor looks at this game and assigns the best center/AR's. With both teams having their own hot heads I just hope it's a well officiated and played game. Scott 4-2
