Campbell County 75 Cooper 73
CooperSportsFan replied to Randy Parker's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Thanks Mr Sixer. Had a friend keeping me updated, when he told me Hathorn and Hawkins had picked up fouls and the score changed so quickly I figured that's what CC was doing. Free throws will get you every time, definitely something to work on -

Anyone go to this game? Missed it due to work, Jags up 21-8 at end of first, Hathorn and Hawkins both had 2 fouls in first qtr, sat most of second and Hathorn picked up quick 3rd at start of 3rd qtr. Heard the officials called quite a few bad calls on us. -

Boone's game is not 100% set yet. Ryle plays Heritage Academy on the 23rd, winner of that would play Boone, according to BCHS Bball Twitter and records -

Not being a CC fan I don't watch many of their games. I will say he should have been called for taunting and given a technical, after he fouled Hathorn in the first half he chest bumped him and was talking trash but the ref just stood there. The other ref that gave Kunkel and the CC player called them for nothing but Schuh's taunting is ok. -

Just seemed odd to me. Think once McNeil and Dickerson get back we will be trouble for CC. McNeil is not afraid to drive to the basket and with CC's slow starts we stand a good chance. -

Close game till the fourth. Not sure why Schuh is so untouchable, seemed like every time we put someone on him they called a foul on us but he's ok to push our players around. We got careless with the ball and CC took advantage of us Maybe an odd question but does Schuh always guard players way shorter than him? He was on Kunkel a lot while Hathorn was pushing around his defender -
Overall a pretty good game for Cooper, Franklin Co played tough but couldn't overcome a few mistakes. Scoring for Cooper Hathorn finished with 17 & 8, Lietchy 12 & 5, Dragan 10 pts, & Hendrix 7ast, 3stls. Probably the best officiating I have seen this season.

Cooper and St Henry engaged in a battle tonight. Adam Kunkel led all Cooper scorers with 14. Refs inconsistent again in their officiating. Cooper takes on Franklin Co in the Franklin Co tournament tomorrow at 7:30

Dickerson broke hand not sure on time, McNeil they aren't 100% sure. Sloppy play definitely weighed heavily in this game. More flip flopping (pun intended) on charge calls. One calls one way, another calls completely different. One official tried calling fouls on what was actually a travel twice, but was correctly called by another official. Hendrix played tight defense the whole game as usual and did great there, still trying to find his shot. -

Great game for the Jags, Kunkel got the fire started and it never ceased. Can anyone explain the differences in charge calls? Most looked in the same position, first offensive charge call on Hathorn the defender jumped in front as Colin was moving in, not sure how that went against us. -

Stanley hit a few shots and played hard, not sure on points. Hathorn was sick from what I heard, should be back next week Junior had a really good game, hit a few closely guarded shots -

We are currently tied with a 3-1 District record. Played an on and off first half, was really back and forth until the fourth and then McNeil hit 12th gear and carried Cooper to victory. Watson filled in nicely in the Hathorn role, gave 43 a hard time when he was in, though he played quite well. -
Think its the inconsistency that I have seen. If you think the refs are that way in boys games, go watch girls BB. Just my opinion (though others agree) there's a ref that consistently officiates Cooper games and seems to always target Hathorn. Not just once or twice but there have been a few games he's been pushed, pulled, elbowed and knocked around and has had more touch fouls called against him. Again just a few people's opinions, I just want consistent calls and as previously stated let the official observing their "area" make their calls not the guy at mid court watching backs

McNeil finished with 21, game didn't slip away from SK until the fourth. Think some frustration set in, Hathorn and #25 from SK were in a battle of the paint all game long, not sure how 25 didn't have more fouls. Cooper takes on Holmes Friday at NKU's Bank of KY Arena -

If there is an official on each side of the court minus the back side how does an official looking at the back of the player driving call a foul on defender (who clearly swats away the ball) when two officials are staring right at the steal? Why can't officials overrule?
