  1. Not high school soccer per se, but I watched a really good U18 team of former Northern Ky high school ladies play a tournament this weekend in Miamitown. Pretty impressive! Any of these ladies can play at the next level. I don't know all of them, but the ones have seen play in high school are Jessie Schilling, Marie Burns, Kara Schwartz & Emily Pawsat from Beechwood; Paige Kellum form NDA; Sam Bunzel from NCC; Anna Crosthwaite from Dixie; Kelsey Etherton from Highlands; Jill Davenport from Ryle; a couple of really good players from Brossart; and one other young lady from Beechwood. I know I'm missing and few more. Most of these players played under the old KLASS (?) club as the Knockouts. Neat to see a reunion team. Ended up 2-0-1.
  2. You think this is bad, you ought to see the votes for the Top 25 in soccer!
  3. Do you review this policy with the players and their parents before the season? Sounds rather fair to me.
  4. I think Dixie's current coach, Kricher(?) would be a perfect fit. The current AD at Dixie too.....
  5. I could not have said it any better 719! I guess RCC was correct!
  6. He was a good man! My thoughts and prayers are with the Rose family and the CCHS community.
  7. Giving kids credit when deserved is great. Using social media to disparage a team is not. Quit drinking the Kool Aid guys.
  8. Seriously, Lawn Boy, I can't believe you that just posted that response!! Seriously? Weren't you on press row for basketball?
  9. Yeah your correct! By why would they not if it's such an honor to participate in the tournament??
  10. Trust me Lawn Boy, I competed in many high school sports. I was also fortunate enough to compete at the D-1 level in college. I too had coaches in high school and college, occasionally berate me and my teammates if we played poorly. I understand and accept that from a coach when necessary. What I don't like, and I think it's unprofessional and warrants dismissal from a program, is when a high school coach or staff member uses a social media platform like BGP and bad mouths his/her team! This is not the proper forum for that type of behavior. College and pro coaches, no problem. High school coaches? Absolutely not!
  11. I got tired of reading all Lawnboy's comments, so I didn't read all 7 threads... I apologize if someone already addressed this point. Anyway, with regard to the All A, does the All A committee reimburse the participating schools for the rooms, meals, travel, buses, vans, ect...? I'm sure that there are some smaller A schools that may be strapped when it comes to covering such expenses. What about time away from school?
  12. 719, are you the voice of reason? Goodness! I've never such a cogent post.
  13. Lawnboy, So is this advice from a parent, coach, fan or a wanna be journalist?? Goodness you cant even support your own team when it struggles.
  14. Educational guardianship? Did Dixie lose another softball player?
  15. From my perspective the All A is another example of the socialization of high school sports, i.e., let's spread the championship wealth to the little guys or the poorly funded programs throughout the state. I'm sorry, but if there is that much disparity throughout the state or if small schools are that needy for a so-called championship, then convince the KHSAA to have classes or divisions for all sports like football, track, and cross country sports. IMO, if you're not good enough or big enough to win a championship, deal with it! Heck, why not just give every player a participation medal or ribbon?
  16. Oh, and by the way, just for the record, I attended a very small Northern Kentucky school that hasn't had as much success as many of the other Northern Kentucky All A schools.
  17. Here is the post that I initially posed in the NCC v St. Henry thread. Congrats NCC! Good luck! With regard to the All A, I have question. This will anger my friends who are All A advocates, but such is life. What's the big deal about winning an All A championship in any sport? Isn't the goal to win a regular KHSAA Championship? It's my understanding that the All A was initiated so that small schools could compete for a so-called state championship in a sport that they normally could not win on a state wide level. Now that there are several small schools/teams that can compete with the larger schools on a state wide level, hasn't the All A outlived its usefulness? It seems to me that the All A is like the NIT in college basketball.

  19. I watched the Walton game. I was really impressed by the NCC catcher and center fielder. Is the left fielder out of position? Seemed that she struggled.
