  1. Same here! Nothing against Raceland but they're a 1a and we were 3a at the time and it was a disappoint if the game was close.
  2. I agree... I didn't think Ashland used their athletes very well in the first half. When they started running at raceland is when they started having success. Racelands d had too mush team speed sideline to sideline.
  3. I'm not sure I listened to it on the radio... I didn't tune in for the final stats but I think it was about 60yds passing and 250 on the ground.
  4. Nice win for Coach Maynard and a hard fought game fo both teams.
  5. I'm just trying to figure out why you guys feel making stopping the run a priority so erroneous. From what I gathered from all your post is you either completely shut them down and stop the run and pass or you get blown out. I've been in this area all my life and I haven't ever seen a passing game that is just pitch and catch like your making Russell out to be. The only time I've seen a passing game succeed is off play action or set up by the run. I also played for Maynard for 4 yrs and have all the respect in the world for him but he'd be the first to tell ya just bc he seen something in the defense and made adjustment s doesn't mean we always executed.
  6. 400 yards passing!?!? Are you assuming Greenup plays this game without a secondary? Greenup played a pass heavy team last week (Lewis qb was 10-23 passing at halftime) and they faired pretty well. To just act like Russell qb is a proven passer is ridiculous... Is it possible? Sure. Is it likely? No. To have a system that allows balance and flexibility is one thing but to execute is a whole new ball game. All I'm saying is they would have to prove they can execute it before that was my main focus.
  7. Maybe I'm crazy but the strength of the red devils offense will be on the ground. You gotta stop what your opponent does best. Make the quarterback prove to you they can throw the ball. Maynard won't have the same good fortune as he had at raceland in that they were already a spread team that threw the ball.
  8. I was with Maynard when greenup made the transition from the wing t to the spread. There's Alot of pressure on the quarterback as far as decision making is concerned in the passing game. The same can be said for the o-line as far as blitz pick up. To me greenup should load the box and force them into doing the things their not used to doing. Russell will still be a run heavy offense their just gonna spread you out then run between the tackles.
  9. I'm with you ram. This is a completely different Russell Greenup game than we have seen in a long time. Russell going to the spread and greenup the downhill running team. I think if greenup can stop the run and force Russell to pass it will be a close game but if Russell keeps greenup off balance running and throwing I can see Russell taking it by a few scores. Russell 24 GC 13
  10. You seem pretty close to the program. How we looking this year?
  11. My mistake for sure but if me asking a question offends him that much im not sure he'll last anyway. like I said I have nothing against him I was just curious to know if there were truth to what I had heard. whether its mullins or the next guy im on here to support Greenup County football.
  12. Ok! Don't have anything against mullins it was just what I heard after last season and was curious what was going on. Our program needs stability!
  13. Nothing! A lot of wishful thinking with Nathan Mcpeek I think. Sad. Parents ran off a great coach in Maynard and it hasn't been competitive since with the exception of 1 yr maybe.
