  1. CCH breaks the ice finally with 14 mins left in the half. Lamb finish of a Flynn cross. Very poor by CCH so far.
  2. CCH very flat offensively. Should have had 3 goals already. 14 mins in and it is 0-0.
  3. Not sure I'd agree that Trinity dominated the second half although they did clearly have the better of the play. As I said earlier, I was confident CCH would be OK in the rematch given that they'd only played 12 players in the first game, heat was a factor and they were without one of their best players. Game is over and I think the better team won so now, hopefully the boys forget about it as well and focus on the next task at hand. I think it may be tough for them to refocus so let's hope the coaches can get them to do that.
  4. Regarding the actual game, I caught the first half and left at halftime but was surprised that the final result remained 1-0 Sacred Heart. NDA looked to be the better team to me but just couldn't finish in the end.
  5. Thanks to the CJ for their coverage of the game last night. Almost 1500 attendance on a chilly, drizzly night, an hour or so away from the campus of both schools on Halloween night is a good showing. While I'm sure a freshman football game in the same circumstances would have drawn even bigger numbers, we do appreciate the attention paid to such a minor game.
  6. If you are implying or stating that there was more area wide or statewide interest in the freshman football game between HHS and Campbell County than in the varsity match last night that is probably one of the dumbest statements I've ever read on BGP.
  7. Just yanking your chain. Having seen CCH all year I knew they had it in them it was just a matter of playing at the level they were capable of playing at and they did that last night.
  8. Vogt missed the game with an ankle sprain but should be back for Wednesday. I thought it was a good move by the staff to go to a 4-5-1 with about 27 minutes left in the game. CCH was already controlling the midfield and the extra midfielder helped them eat up all the loose balls. They scored about 2-3 minutes after making that change on a nice run down the right side, I think by Jacobs and a good ball into the box. At some point CCH went back to 4-4-2 but I didn't understand why they did that. I agree, a good team with everyone playing hard and now they need to focus on Fern Creek.
  9. While I didn't offer an opinion in the Trinity/CCH prediction thread I was quietly confident in the Colonels chances tonight based on a few things: - The second half of the Montgomery County game I saw a spark that had been missing for CCH for quite a long time the last half of the season. They seemed to be getting the mojo back that they'd had early in the year. - In the first matchup, while some may disagree, I felt CCH was the better team but were hampered by the hot weather and only playing 12 players that day. It seemed obvious to me that CCH had a speed/athleticism advantage and the scores were there that day but were not converted. The Colonels speed on the edges gave Trinity trouble all night. Both CCH goals started on the edges and there were a couple more that were not converted. - Little mentioned was that CCH played the first game without one of their two 1st team all-region midfielders in Michael Wessels. Adding him into the mix would have to make a difference and he had a big game for CCH tonight. Great team effort tonight.
  10. Sorry. Thought their loss was to an out of state team.
  11. CCH takes a big step and hands Trinity their first loss to a KY team. CCH bigger and faster through the lineup and their defense just locked Trinity up all night. Colonels had attack after attack and Trinity's keeper kept them close. Could have been a 3 or 4 goal margin.
  12. CCH has gone defensive too early
  13. CCH up 1-0 at half. Litzler from a Massie asist
  14. Keep throwing it to the former soccer player.
  15. The top 15 team defenses per KHSAA. Of the 8 remaining teams, it looks like three of them are on this list. 16. Game is in Campbell County. Limited cell service there after 8pm.
  17. I'd say read your own description of the PK. Both players going for the ball, away from the goal and not towards it and the center ref behind the play and not in the best place to call a foul. A/R was there and did not put the flag up. In a game with a lot of studs-up, hard tackles that were not called I just feel this call was not consistent with how the rest of the game was called regarding slide tackles. Tough call not to make for a ref in front of that home crowd. In the end, Day made the call irrelevant thankfully.
  18. They are all on fall break still and away from their computers..
  19. I won't disagree with you here and it's the reason I sit by myself. The ref was not very good but jawing at him hurt our cause more than it helped.
