Did Oldham County Players Skip Regional Championship For Fall Break?

Featured Replies

In another thread it was asked if the story that more than a few Oldham County soccer players missed the 8th region championship game due to Fall Break. No way this is true, right? No kid is skipping a region championship for vacation.

Please tell me this was just a false story.

So no one from Oldham area knows if this is a true story?

They are all on fall break still and away from their computers..

The South kids didn't. So, the Crestwood kids remained, obviously.

Based on the semi-final game it looks like 3 might have been missing who regularly got time during the season - a frosh, a soph and a Jr. Not sure if they were on vacation, hurt or just did not play. Not sure if that's "more than a few" or if it had any impact on outcome of the game. I do know that for my HS coach missing any games for a vacation would have earned a player some time on the bench and would have forfeited any chance they had to be a captain the following year. Not to mention the grief they'd have gotten from other players.

After watching the game they were definitely missing something to get beat that handily.
