RAM TIME

Think you'll be reading about several players in The Saturday Independent and Monday morning QB Edition of the Independent whose names usually don't get mentioned a whole lot that will step up and help make a difference in this game. 11 players from each side on the field at one time, it's a team game and The Rams are all about TEAM, not individual statistics. These guys will step up to the challenge in a close game. Rams 34-28

Didn't see him dominate anything. Did see him pull the OL to the ground by the numbers on the front of the jersey that resulted in the OL getting called for a hold. This happened in the last 3 or 4 minutes of the game. It was the same play that Defensive pass interference was called and the down was played over. I was less than 50 feet from the play and it was obvious that no Offensive holding was occurring, but the defensive guy you are referring to grabbed the OL by numbers and took him straight to the ground. I'll give the kid credit, he played a decent game, but dominant, no. He did have impressive speed for a lineman on the kickoff return for a TD at end of game. Was very impressed with his speed, but more unimpressed with our execution on the coverage.

I'll have a little salt & pepper with my crow on this one. WC has impressed so far. Hope the Rams pick it up a few notes 8. 2nd half. Very lucky to be up 15-13 at half.

I honestly believe that Coach will try to deliver the knockout blow early to get the bulk of the Varsity team off the field asap due to the fact that this week is a short turnaround for playing an excellent Ashland team Friday plus the longer they're out there the more risk there is to injury. I just feel that we're a good enough team and have excellent coaching and we'll be able to lock this up late in 1st half or early in 2nd half.

I hope it's not. I like the atmosphere of a close ballgame. We play on Friday so I plan on being there for this game. I just think after watching Russell dominate in the Gid-o-Rama, and figuring that TJ kept most of his plays and tricks in the bag, they will open it up on Greenup. I do hope to see a tight game though.

I'd say you're definitely in the ball park O R. The Musketeers are much improved but not as much as what tonight's scoreboard indicated. Their opponents helped put up alot of those points. The 1st 2 TDs were the same as served to Greenup on a silver platter. Gonna be a long fall in Vanceburg. Hope for the kids sake they can find a way to be competitive. Think Russell wins by 4 TDs or more.

As you read in what I wrote, I said I hope it's not true. Just what I was told. If it's not true, I'm glad it's not. Like I said, I hope to see them get the program back on the right track. I'm not a Musketeer parent or coach, so I was going on what I was told. I'd like to see them win every game except against Raceland and I would just be a fence rider on the Russell -Greenup game. Didn't mean to step on any toes, like I said I was hoping it wasn't true and if it's not I'll probably be there hoping to see them get the W over Lewis Co.

From my understanding the entire Senior Football Roster and some Assistant Coaches are suspended for Friday nights game due to a locker room incident. The Superintendent supposedly handed down the suspensions after the incident. I was told this by a former player who is still in close contact with the program. I hope this isn't true. I was hoping to see the Musketeers get their program back on the upswing. I had planned on going to watch this game and thought that Greenup would win it handily. But if this is true, Lewis may very well end up with the W. Think I'll go watch Paintsville game if these suspensions are true.

Rockcastle Co. by 2 TD'S from what I've heard. Anderson Co. rolls by 20 or more from what people in that area tell me.

It will be found by the men in black all night long. Wouldn't be surprised to see at least 2 TDS scored by the Defense.

Welcome to BGP, that's just wishful thinking. If this was mid-season and the Rams had not allowed a touchdown all season and had an average winning margin of 50, those same 3 would still be voting that way.

Where is all that talent from Greenup at? Any of them gonna be making the Sports page in the AD Independent every week?

Must have just been dumb luck that Coach Salmons led last season's team to a Regional Championship in his first season at the helm during what most thought was going to be a down year. I'm kinda slow myself, but I think that made back to back Regional Championships.

GRC, yes not much dropoff from 1's to 2's. Then if need be some of the one-way lineman can play both ways. Just buckle up and get ready for liftoff, cause starting Saturday August 22 it goes to the next level. You can believe that.

Raceland's Line is in excellent shape, no huffing and puffing, no butt dragging. They are well conditioned and there is plenty of them to switch in and out with much dropoff. Raceland tears it up in this one. My prediction is a running clock by halftime. Lewis County didnt see 20% of Raceland's offense and I'm quite sure Coach will want to put this one away early. Rams will srike fast and often.

There will be no overlooking the Comets. Rams will be all about Taking Care of Business. Rams 47 Comets 6

It would have to terrible setup for any middle school football program to be considered a hindrance to the high school program. The entire program would probably be considered a lackluster program. Any structured learning and game experience should make any player better, thus making the football program better. There is definitely big problems if middle school football isn't significant to your high school program, or you better have a good recruiting program in place, which I know definitely has happened in the past in our area.
