  1. I've been watching the FB scores very closely and have to believe there are plenty of athlete at FHS to compete with most school! I'n dying for BK season to get here! Hopefully all the young men will stay healthy and good things are ahead for the Panthers!
  2. The Panthers have struggled the past couple years. '12-'13: 7-21 and '13-'14: 5-24. I think District Champs might be a stretch but I do believe we will see vast improvement this year! Frankfort usually has good athletes just have to get their basketball skills up to the level of their athleticism. Best of Luck this season FHS!!
  3. I am looking forward to this winter and watching the progress of the Dunbar kids. I think it is an important year in the development of the program. I'm excited for the future.
  4. Year #2 is about to get started! I was referring to the fact that after 3 or 4 years, the people at H.C. will understand why there were mixed reviews about his time at Reitz.
  5. As we get closer to the KHSAA dead period, is there any jobs still open? I believe Franklin Co. is. Is there others?
  6. Congrats to Coach Johnson! A lot of work to be done but one of the better jobs in the state. Hopefully there will be a quick turnaround for the Defenders!
  7. Congratulations to Coach Johnson. I'm sorry to hear there might be a little dissension with the hire. If everything I hear about Coach Johnson is true, the "Station Nation" will be extremely pleased with the hire. Best of luck moving forward for the kids at Bryan Station.
  8. Final 113-101 Indiana. Indiana made a huge run with 3:00 to go. Ky not enough legs to answer.
  9. 8:18 to go in game. Indiana leads 82-78. Spaulding on the bench with fouls since the 16:30 mark.
  10. Indiana up 53-50 at half! Bolden and Spaudling has played well for KY Jrs. They have not defended the high Ball Screen well. Indiana has "doubled"or "Hedged Hard" the ball screen and caused some turnovers. If KY can control the dribble penetration and eliminate some turnovers, they have a shot! Big problem will be fatigue! Only 9 man roster with one guy playing limited minutes.
  11. Any official word yet? I've been trying to watch the media but haven't seen anything. Did I miss the announcement?
  12. Well ... With great organization and hardwork a lot of the Bryan Station problems can be alleviated. Of course the financial issues are out of the coach's hands. I have nothing but best wishes for the "Station Nation".
  13. Hickory, Thanks! Looking forward to the announcement. I think Coach Johnson is walking into a great situation.
  14. Does anybody know if Bryan Station is playing anywhere over the summer. I didn't know if an assistant might be taken the kids somewhere to play until a head coach is named. Any information would be appreciated.
  15. Bankshot, so what determines where they go to High School? Where they attend elementary? Parent's decision? I'm not familiar with Coach Brown so I can't comment on his situation. All I can comment on is what I see from the outside. From the outside, I think Station is a good job. Sure there are issues but I think most jobs have issues. I know if I was a head coach in Kentucky, I would take my chances at Station.
  16. Hickory, I agree. The summer can be an important part of a successful program. In my opinion the top notch players will find a way to play. The summer can be important to developing depth within the program and keeping the other players involved with the program. I think most successful programs will have a lot of kids playing (and working) during the summer.
  17. Fleming Co. usually has good talent but my understanding is they got hit hard with graduation. But I am sure there will be somebody step up for them. Regardless, I think the past couple years will be a hard act to follow.
  18. Joker, Thanks for your insight on the Station situation. I agree with just about everything you pointed out. That is why I said with the "Right Hire". I think a master organizer that can relate to kids is needed in the Station position. I'm not sure but I believe there is like 4 middle schools (or parts of 4) that feed into Station. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. With those and all the elementary schools, there has to be a way to build a solid feeder system. I understand your point with enrollment and agree the new high school would be my biggest concern. I also agree with Lex. Cath and LCA emerging there is also fear of losing kids. But with all that being said, I still think Station is a very desirable job. I wish nothing but the best for the kids at Bryan Station. With June upon us and the start of summer ball, will there be somebody in place to guide the kids?
  19. I strongly believe with the right hire Bryan Station has a chance to be a very good basketball program. I know there are issues (money, re-districting, etc.) but I think the infrastructure is there for a good program. Of course that is just my opinion.
  20. There is no question the entire Fayette County School System has major money problems. I was just wondering if Bryan Station was going to have somebody in place for summer activities. The Station job is a big time job but there is a lot of internal organizing that needs to take place. I was hoping a coach would be in place by June.
  21. Is this the former Lafayette head coach?
  22. Will Bryan Station hire a basketball coach tonight at the Board meeting or is the meeting just to discuss finances?
  23. Velcro12, I agree. I definitely think Bryan Station is a good job. I guess you have to wonder why nobody has been named. Are teaching jobs the problem? If that is the case will they hire a non-teacher or hire an interim coach until a teaching job comes open. Either way you would hope for the kids sake, they would get someone in place.
