  1. Yes I coach Mike and Skyler in AAU and they are a really good contrast in styles. Having said that and admitting my bias, Jake Williams from Graves is playing with us also and as Ric Flair said, "to be the man you've got to beat the man" and Graves should still be firmly in the mix in the 1st.
  2. Based on my admittedly limited knowledge, Calloway should have a huge front court advantage while McCracken has better guards. And don't underestimate the growing pains that will come with forging a team out of the 3 consolidated schools.
  3. Admittedly, I've never seen the kid play but I have heard a lot about him. What position does he play?
  4. Calloway should win the 1st this year. They return their entire team from a regional runner up finish this year. They will start 4 juniors and a senior. Michael Arnett (Sr) is a powerful 6'8 post player who is strong around the rim. He has been averaging a double double on the AAU circuit this spring. Skyler Hunter (Jr) is a stretch 4 who has been averaging over 15 PPG with the Illinois Bears AAU team this spring including shooting around 40% from 3. He's probably the best shooter you haven't heard of in the state of KY. Calloway will need to sure up their guard play heading into next season, but if they can accomplish that, then they should be able to dethrone Graves County and make the trip to Rupp.
  5. Caldwell should win the Class A in the 2nd Region. Eli Pepper is a name most have not heard but should get familiar with. He's a 6'8 rising junior who has been impressive on the spring AAU circuit with the Illinois Bears. He is getting interest from Murray, Toledo, Rice, and Southern Illinois among others. He has received elite camp invites from all 4 of those schools. Their biggest question mark is guard play. They'll have a big front court and all kinds of athletes (football school). Coach Kukahiko enters his 2nd year with Caldwell and should expect improvement over an average first year.
  6. I do believe Doss is the only head coaching job he has had. He served as an assistant for Happy for a while then stepped right into a head coaching spot at Doss. He is 45-41 in 3 years, but that record is deceiving. He inherited a team that was 4-23 in 2009/10 and they gradually improved. 9-17 his first season, 17-13 second season (made region) and 19-11 last year (losing to eventual winner PRP at region). I've only seen them a handful of times since I live in the western part of the state, but they averaged slightly over 63 PPG this year. I am admittedly biased because I know KC, but he is a great coach who demands (and gets) the best out of his players. He would be a great hire at Montgomery, but if he is back at Doss next year, I expect them to be top 2/3 in the 6th next year.
  7. Coach Goodin was a player and longtime assistant at Georgetown College before leaving for Doss a few years back. KC is a GREAT coach and even better person. He has turned around the program at Doss. Montgomery would do well to hire him and I bet he comes with a STRONG recommendation from Happy.
  8. I could be wrong but I think that EYBL has outlawed filming this year.
  9. My buddy in the 12th says Carson is trying to transfer from East. Not sure where to though.
  10. 1. Calloway. Co. 2. Henderson Co. 3. Apollo 4. Warren Central 5. Bardstown 6. PRP 7. Ballard 8. Collins 9. Holmes 10. Montgomery Co. 11. Henry Clay 12. Mercer Co. 13. North Laurel 14. Perry Co. Central 15. Johnson Central 16. Fleming Co. This all depends on no crazy realignment by the KHSAA of course.
  11. Mercer up 56-54. 5.3 sec left. Will Hager at line.
  12. 53-51 Mercer with 33.1 seconds. Mercer ball. Timeout Mercer.
  13. Go to WHBN WHIR WRNZ Hometown Radio Network Live Streaming (HometownLIVE.net) and click on WHBN to listen. Mercer up by 2 with under 2 minutes left!
