Rule 13

Somerset has Chevron and Dishman back with Farris at 6' 6" and Castle Hatcher a Pt. Guard. They have several others that will play a lot, could be a very good team.

I really liked the way Tyler Miniard was playing late in the year for Boyle County. His length makes him a presence under the basket, while his ability to step outside and hit jumpshots is impressive for a center.

 

Garrard County's Austin Sebastian struggled with consistency this season (playing for his third coach in three years), but I think a second year in the system will help him have a better senior season. Another senior at Garrard who had a terrific junior campaign was shooting guard Clayton Ray. He became Garrard's best scorer as the year went on and hopefully will continue that progress this upcoming year.

I got to see several of these kids at the regional tourney this year, while catching a few during the year as well. Based on what I saw this year (in no certain order): Kapinga and Edwards from Southwest. Woods and Stearns from Wayne. Conway from Lincoln, and Taylor. Tyler from Boyle. Carson from East Jessamine. Hager from Mercer. Peters from West Jessamine. Collier from SW, Sebastian from Garrard, Sims from Mercer and Miniard from Boyle could play themselves into the mix.

I'm not familiar with the Rockcastle players. Ray did have a good year so probably deserves mention here. Think you have to include Taylor as he may be the best "true" PG in the region.

Also, is this a ranking? I was assuming so but wasn't sure.

And looks like it consists of 5 soph and 3 fresh (class as of current year). 4 of your top 10 are soph and 2 of them are freshmen. Goes to what BC23 is saying about level of young talent.

I think a few of these players have real potential to play at the next level - at varying levels. Wonder how many are playing on AAU teams?

Top 10 in my opinion are (no particular order): Justin Edwards- SW, David Kapinga-SW,Corey Stearns-Wayne Co, Hagen Tyler-Boyle Co,Ryan Dishman-Somerset,Jacob Conway-Lincoln Co,Will Hager-Mercer Co,Austin Sebastian-Garrard Co,Ronnie Carson-East Jessamine,Dalton Peters-West Jessamine, gotta throw in Peyton Woods-Wayne Co also.

Kapinga is playing with the Travelers, Stearns is playing with Louisville Magic 15u, Tyler and Carson playing with Louisville Magic 16u

Hager played with Hoop Dreams last year. If they have the same players that team is loaded. I think there are several players that can play college ball from the 12th region.

My youngest son follows Ronnie Carson on twitter and Instagram and apparently on there Carson has made comments that he may go to Mercer County. I honestly don't believe him and think he is just pulling people's legs but I guess we'll see. I expect him to be at East Jessamine next season. If not he's likely hurt his chances at eligibility.

That list is the top underclassmen scoring averages in order not a ranking.

Hager is playing with Hoop Dreams this summer and yes they are loaded.

Carson says every year that he's gonna transfer. First it was Scott Co, then Lincoln Co, now Mercer Co. Ronnie probably has more talent then anybody in the region but he just needs to get his head on straight

Yes, Will is playing with Hoop Dreams again this year. We have all but one player back but have added a new one as well. Sounds like the Magic will have a good 16U team. And congrats on Hagen's sophomore year. He had a good one. Talented young man.
