  1. That's it. I knew he played for the union raiders couldn't remember if it was frosh year he played for hazard or soph
  2. He is from NKY and went to Ryle frost year, then he and his family moved tomHazard to take care of his grandfather I believe and then moved back to NKY last year.
  3. Well for many, beating HHS last year was the monkey many wanted to finally get off their backs.
  4. The last decade until last year they never have won anything. No district title etc because Highlands was in their district. They seem to ride the HHS coat tails in thinking they were something special when in reality they had nothing to back it up all those years. That was all. I never meant they weren't any good, I meant they hadn't won anything to put themselves in an elite class that some of their fans put them in.
  5. I thought 2 years ago was their year but last years team was even better. My remarks was directed to the member member who tried to say everyone in NKY hid from CCH. My point was, why would they be afraid of CCH when over the past decade they didn't do anything.
  6. @ColonelCrazy Seems you left out the one who did bring it up. That was easy
  7. Apparently Fleck really knows how to relate to his players. Something like 6 W Michigan recruits also switched commitments to Minn when Fleck was hired.
  8. Nope. Never said that as that is one tired myth always brought up by HHS and CCH fans. Show us the proof that that has been the case and I'd take it back. Seeing how Ryle has played HHS going back years and if they were willing to play HHS they surely weren't afraid to play CCH who was never at HHS caliber the last decade. Maybe schools like Ryle and Cooper and others were waitin for CCH to build up their program to make it worth while. I've never seen any proof that over the years CCH asking Cooper to play.
  9. I think it has more to do with other NKY teams becoming better that they don't have to keep looking across the river to fill out of district games.
  10. I think what this has shown is how much Football in NKY has improved over the years in that teams like HHS and Cov Cath don't have to look outside their own backyards to fill their out of district schedules and find quality competition. Having games against the likes of Ryle (again) Cooper as well as their rivalry against Beechwood going strong and other NKY teams helps start local rivalries that already exist in other sports.
  11. So, what's your point? Barker was 60/50 and you couldn't wait to bash him every chance you got and said again and again he shouldn't be Mr Football. Your bias has truly affected your ability to think rationally.
  12. Barker was one of only a select few to ever make the 50/50 club in the state. Don't let facts get in your bias way though.
  13. Not true. Football is open to Juniors as well as was shown a couple years back
  14. I will not say who shouldn't be in the list that is already on the list because I will not take anything away from those finalist named. They I'm sure are all great kids and players etc. I will give the name that I think was blatantly left off and that is Dante Hendrix. We wont get into a debate that diminishes what any of the finalists accomplished. Not here to do that. I congratulate all that made the list. I just think their has been a big omission and was curious to why?
  15. That is what my entire problem with the process has been. Simply doesn't make any sense the player that wins POY for 6-A doesn't even make the list.
  16. That is awesome!!! Congrats Tanner!! Big 10 is huge!!!! Best of luck and can't wait to watch you playing on Saturdays
  17. The award itself isn't a joke. The way the nomination process ignores some players is a joke imo. In the end one of the most deserving players will usually win it, but the thought of "well so and so wouldn't win it anyway so it's no big deal he was left off the list" is what diminishes the nominations if you ask me. If the AP voters look at the nominations that way then the list is usually made up of popularity contest winners and some very deserving players are completely ignored. Would they have won it? Maybe not, but when the nominated players are listed with their stats as if that is what they are being judged by, then nominate all the players the same way, not just by their name alone.
  18. It is what it is. Just a shame that if you're not on the radar going into the season then it's just about impossible to make the list even when stats should play a huge part in the award yet stats are not even considered for some if they aren't popular. you have no shot at getting recognized for what is supposed to be the biggest award in the state for a player. There are players that made the finalist list that weren't even the best in their district at their positions even when they played similar schedules, and don't say stats don't matter when that is all that is posted next to each finalist. It is what it is and always will be. Congrats to all the finalists.
  19. Funny you say that because there was a local qb a couple years ago you couldn't stand that had similar numbers and you repeated over and over again he shouldn't win it that year.
  20. When the award is "supposed" to go to the best football player yet there were players left off the list who were among the best, if not the best among their peers who did make the list does diminish the award imo. So your excuse for leaving someone off the list who was better than some on the list in the first place is simply because he wouldn't have won? Then why have a list in the first place? That may be one of the silliest arguments ever made about any award.
  21. The award once again proves to be nothing more than a popularity contest. There is no way Hendrix should not have at least made the finalist list. The award is a joke. Once again it has less to do with how they did their senior season vs their peers but more to do with where they are going to play at the next level. Sad.
  22. I never said an underclass man won. I said they can win or they wouldn't have underclassmen make the finals list as they have in the past. Just stating a fact.
  23. You don't have to be a senior to win it. Juniors have been on the finalist list before. If if I had a say, Dante Hendrix wins it.
  24. I would go with the same as a penalty would be anywhere else on the field unless the line of scrimmage is inside the 10 for a 10 yard penalty or inside the 5 and a penalty would be a 5 yard mark off. In other words if the los is inside the 5 and an encroachment penalty is called then half the distance and automatic 1st Down. If the los is at the 11 then half the distance and repeat the down.
