Maze is a good coach. But AAU is quite different from school ball. One of those incoming freshman has a dad that can be pretty difficult to deal with. He'll definitely be tested early. AAU is easy to get rid of someone.

He's a great coach, and a great hire. It's still Casey Co though. Unless he gets some transfers.

Maybe they took him out of it from time to time. Seniors do that sometimes. Like I said, he looked a lot better at the Derek Smith.

They lost Payne and Crabtree, but they should still be good. Too often last year their week link was the coach's son, but he looked like he's really improved a lot at the Derek Smith.

Coach Schooler will do fine. There's always a lot of talent at FC. They'll struggle this year, but they're on their way up.

That kid can play. He may be the best 2016 guard in the state before it's all over.

Anyone hear anything about it? Was supposed to be at KBA, but I heard it got switched to a church nearby. Any locals do anything?

I agree on the coaching point. They really try and slow it down. With those athletes, he needs to speed up the game. This isn't N Oldham.

I saw them a couple of times in June. They have some talent, but they're young. Probably going to be a long year, but they're building.

Do we do a recount on the top 2016 kids in the state now? He already has interest from Duke, UK, and UNC.

They're going to take a step back this year. A couple of those guys have been hyped since they were in middle school, but have yet to live up to it.

Love watching Hatton play. Aside from being able to fill it up, he has a great feel for the game.

Manual played a lot of younger guys last year, and that will certainly help this next season.

I think Ayers is going to be a sophomore. Unless he's playing up on Manimal. Either way, he's very talented.

Snider wasn't playing for Ballard, but it looks like it will once again be Ballard and Trinity in the 7th. PRP and Doss both looked really strong in the 6th. Butler looks to struggle this year.

I get what you're saying. I do. But look at what they did against "elite" players. Hawkins put it in the Harrisons, and Willis destroyed Bobby Portis (top 10, McD's, etc.). I just think they're getting discounted a little. Only time will tell.

I like when people talk about Willis and Hawkins "never seeing the court at UK. Stop reading blogs and actually watch them play. Hawkins is incredibly tough and always responds to competition. Willis is 6'9 and can play 4 positions. Support your local talent. If they weren't good enough, UK wouldn't want them.

Best man for the job. He's been there. The kids respect him. Their freshman and sophomore classes appear to be loaded.

I managed to watch a few games Friday. Henry Clay varsity looks ready to make a nice run. I did not see any JV. On the freshman level, Eastern and Bullitt East was a fun game to watch. Great guard play, as you would expect.

Oldham Co, Eastern, and Bullitt East are ones I know are going.
