Clyde, I saw Doug Flynn make plays I couldn't believe and saw where he ended up. This kid is a notch below but has a better knowledge of the game and more tools than Flynn. I watched him several times last Summer at Champions and with his High School team and I was amazed at the plays he made. I think this kid is going to be special. Jimmy Wright is one of the better catchers i've seen that has a good bat. I'm afraid my age is creeping up on me.

I have traveled around Central Kentucky and parts of Northern Kentucky and the best middle infielder I have seen is Blake Thomas who plays for Montgomery County. The best defensive catcher I have seen is Jimmy Wright of Madison Central. I think Thomas is the best fielder I have seen since Doug Flynn.

Powell County is playing as good as any team in the 14th Region Region. They are my pick to win the Region. Good luck Pirates.

Chase Mullins is all that Bourbon County has. Clark is a very talented team and showed they can beat him. Bourbon may win the District but don't count out Montgomery County which has 3 of the top players in the Region in Thomas,Lee and Newkirk.

I saw that game and Hall pitched a very good game and was hurt. Hall has shown heart and maturity this season which is a plus. Sophomore Blake Thomas was 3-4 and a couple of inches away from hitting his secomd HR of the season and going 4-4. Newkirk has been hitting the ball all season but his fielding is still questionable. Clark County beat Bourbon County at Clark County and their ace Chase Mullins. Mullins struck out 10 batters and gave up one hit. If Mullins can't pitch every game Bourbon will be elimated early from the Tournament. My predictions is Clark County will win the 40th District and go far in the 10th Region. Montgomery County has three studs in Thomas,Newkirk and Sam Lee but Lee has had an off year. I wonder how they will play with a new coach next year?

I've been told by a school administrator that this has been in the works for a while. The hold up was if Happy would take the Job. I'm told its a package deal with his spouse that will make Happy the highest paid coach in the history of high school basketball. Montgomery Countians can thank Phil Rison for this hire because he was not coming if he has to answer to MC Current AD who I'm told every citizen in MC wants to run him out of town. I think this is a great hire and will put the Indians back on the map as a regional contentender. I'm also told that baseball coach Gene Combs has resigned effective at the end of the year. I think Combs was a good coach until the AD game to town. I hear a lot of upset people are protesting this move. Who is the AD ? Everyone I ask don't have anything positive to say about this man. Happy will not go after the Moreheads job. I think Kelly Wells will walk Moreheads to get that job.

I spoke with someone in the know at Montgomery County and he tells me that Happy Osborne has agreed to be the next Coach for the Indians and it will be made official on May 1st. I think it's a great hire for MC but from what i'm told the school system is a wreck and has been since the new superintendent has taken office. I think their is a lot of unhappy folks in Montgomery County. I wonder why Happy would want to get involved with a school system that is on a down hill slide.
