You know Cartwright is a good quarterback in his own right. I can’t name his stats but by the ole eye ball test, I’d say he is a very good and solid quarterback.

Mayfield was lucky they got the number 2 postion in the RPI which got them home field advantage because if they had to travel to LCA or Beechwood, it might have been different. Home field means a lot.

The RPI is not a poll. It's a thingamajig that goes by your strength of schedule. OC was not the #1 team in 2A, that was LCA based on who they beat during the season. Mayfield was or wasn't the #2 team in 2A.

Maybe. Owensboro Catholic should have had to play either Beechwood, Mayfield or LCA in the semi's to make it fair, just my opinion.

Kids like playing for Mayfield. I’ve been to plenty of Graves games. The fans aren’t into it unless they are playing Mayfield and you might win a ring at Mayfield.The fans are much more knowledgeable about football than Graves or they just care more. Plenty of kids start at Graves but they know at some point their going to Mayfield to play football. Graves is more of a basketball school. I know and like Lance Gregory. He’s a good guy and a good coach.

I was standing on the flatbed truck when it happened. State police, local police all were involved. A bunch of mouthing happened. We wore them out as I remember.

Mayfield beat OC in 94 and I believe in 78. In 78, they had Chris Brown who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and I was at the 94 and 78 games.

The reason why the broadcaster “barks” is because he was in a group of fans called the dog pound that used to sit together at the games. Now ya know.

This game will be remembered. Beechwood did the right thing, had the ball with about a minute to go, had the momentum , I would expect Mayfield to do the very same thing. Mayfield had a good first half, Beechwood played the second half great. Theres a reason why Beechwood has won 3 straight titles and one of them is they win the close ones and two they never think their out of it. All in all it was a great game to watch and the atmosphere was exceptionally good. Also, I want to say something about our kicker, I'm glad he got to redeem himself, he's been a very good kicker for us .

Just went to Turkey day practice, We are 7-0 against Beechwood when we have Camp Cardinal.

Cartwright started as sophomore. He is a 4 year starter. COVID started during his sophomore year and I guess you could say he repeated his sophomore year. I’m glad he did.
