  1. How can that kid go back to the school he came from and now go to another? Sounds like somebody is bending the rules.
  2. Not taken up for Shelbyville by no means but I have never seen where you win your first game and lose you second and have to turn around and play the same day. Shelbyville would have only had to play one game yesterday if they would have lost it's first. In 100 degree heat they should have not tried so hard and used up their pitching in that first game. That bracket was silly and you should only play one game a day in this heat!
  3. Bowling Green and Shelbyville won their games. Does anybody know the scores of the other 2 games from today?
  4. Shelbyville is banged up going into the tournament. They didn't have 4 of their starters last night and had to take their 3rd baseman out after the 1st inning. So hopefully a couple days off we give them some much needed rest and get them helled up. If there is anybody that knows where I could see the schedule for the state tournament.
  5. Niner would you know where to see the bracket for the state tournament?
  6. Shelbyville beat Campbellsville on Thursday night. Then Shelbyville come back to beat Oldham Co. To move on and face the Mustangs in the finals. Brandon Roberts come in the game tonight and completely shut down Oldham from doing anything. Jim "Hoss" Wiley will be back at the state tournament again this year.
  7. He may have throwed a couple of the better ones but he still had 2 that he didn't want to show them in my opinion niner. Mustangs threw a different pitcher every inning. Shelbyville hit it well had a couple of chances to bust it wide open with bases loaded and mo outs and didn't get nothing. I think Hoss was letting everybody bat that was there to let them get playing time before to main line up when districts start.
  8. Watched a good baseball game tonight Shelbyville Post 37 vs Morse Mustangs. Shelbyville gets the win 4-3. Looks like this should be a big time match up in the district that will be played next week at Shelbyville.
  9. It looks like it will come down to Collins and Oldham Co. in the 8th. Collins might have to get the edge as they went this past Saturday to Oldham and handed them a run rule. I know that Oldham didn't throw their best but neither did Collins and Collins pitcher shut them down other than a 2 run homer that was a missed pitch location. Granted with the one and done you can't save the best for later and be seating at home think what if but should be a pretty good game of it comes down to it. Collins is smashing the ball at this point in the season with every starter except for 1 having hut at least 1 homer and he has hit the fence several times missing by inches. Collins has several kids that are batting over .400 and the others batting over .300. They have been averaging 12-18 hits a game the past 2 weeks. Pitching for them will be what makes them or breaks them. They have 3 really good pitchers and if on then they will make a run!!!
  10. Right on Clyde. If he has taken the kid out and puts him back to bat hoping for a chance that is sad. That is why kids get fustrated with coaches. These high school coaches think a kid should never make a mistake. I watched a game Friday and the coach put the hit and run on. The batter was on top of the plate then the pitcher throws the ball in the other batter's box and is maybe ankle high the kid reaches over and swings but can't make contact runner got a bad jump and gets throwed out. Coach makes a comment to another coach that the kid batting is to worried about hitting a home run that he didn't do what was asked of him. Rules are if you are out of the box while hitting the ball you are out. The kid couldn't have hit the ball if he had a 4 foot bat. I know a lot is on the coaches to win and they did when the ball game very easliy but man lead by example.
  11. Collins at best will only get about 16 to 17 games in before they start plying in the districts. As of today they have played 10 games and have had 15 rainouts. That is crazy.
  12. Get job Blake. Toughen sure can pitch well.
  13. I would have to say the Paul Lawerance Dubar would have to included in the conversation. We scrimmaged them Friday night and they have a super dandy pitching staff. I would say their top 4 pitchers are amoung the beat in the state.
  14. The scrimmage got called off. They have rescheduled this for Friday.
  15. Collins is scrimmaging Dunbar Tuesday. As long as the rain holds off they have a field that drains good so they should get it in.
  16. I have heard that they being Oldham Co. only lost 1 senior from last year and will have 10 returning from last year that got varsity playing time. They have Wade Mason and Ryan Rakin that are very good and another top pitcher. But from watching them last year they have a hard time making plays. So unless they have improved that over the winter as long as you can put the ball into play you have a chance. On the schedule being tuff. If that makes your tuffer than watch out for Collins. They are going to be playing one of the tuffest schedules in the state. Imo I would like to get some wins in there to keep the confidence up for the kids. Getting beat everyday even if it is close starts to wear on the team. I still will have to say it will come down to Oldham, Collins and Anderson.
  17. Here is a link to the list. http://www.highschoolsports.net/local/louisville/article/Area-has-13-preseason-baseball-All-Staters/
  18. 1-Oldham 2-Collins 3-Anderson. Oldham has the most experienced pitching of the 3. Anderson has 2 really hard throwers but can they be constant enough will be the question. Collins has a lot of arms with 2 that will stand out. As far as hitting Collins has some really good hitters that produced last year. Oldham will be good at the plate but not that deep in the line up. Anderson is the youngest of the 3 and will struggle putting up a lot of runs but in a close one watch out. Fielding will have to go to Collins they have a lot of experience at each position. Oldham lost in the regionals last year by errors and most of them are back. Anderson should field it good as they always have but the youth will play a big roll. It should be interesting when the play during the season to see how the shape up.
