I still remember that game, it was a complete beatdown by the guys in red, and I ain't talking bout the Tide.
You got that right!!!

After yesterday's game, the Auburn doubters will likely be heavily minimized. To be down 24-0 to Alabama in Tuscaloosa and come back and beat them by a point and giving up only three more points during the comeback is a big accomplishment. In my opinion, Auburn is #1.

The Boise State kicker better watch himself when he gets back to campus!
good point

It appears that some have a loss of memory from a couple of seasons ago; anyone remember a certain bowl game between Utah and Alabama? I do.
-
Actually, there is not any excuse, Nevada is a very good team and I would still take Boise, TCU, and Nevada against many teams in the "big conferences" and would love for more than anything to see many more "bigger conference" schools play these teams during regular season games. There is no reason to disrespect Boise for losing to the team they played tonight, I was very impressed with them.

Congratulations to Male for getting back to a title game. Good luck against Trinity next week and I'm hoping you all win.

Pretty good descriptions, even for being useless.

Can't wait for the Birds to play Boyle next year..:ylsuper:
This will be a game that I definitely make it out for

Proud to have no class; that speaks volumes.
Sounds like you are little sensitive; you read waaaaayyyyyyyyyy more into that comment than anyone on BGP.
Mike was the best coach in KY, but you and hrcarrier are the only ones suggesting Yeagle could have made a difference in tonight's outcome; sounds like a guilty conscience to me.
I have no guilty conscience and did not say that Yeagle would have made a difference. To be exact, I said he would not have. Mayfield played an excellent game and was clearly the best team on the field, which I respect. I will not argue that Yeagle was one of the best high school football coaches in KY, but to say the best ever, I don't know.
Some people have curiosity about how Mayfield would play against other teams of NKY and other parts of the state, and after their performance tonight, I believe that they could beat many more than others had thought.
-
Very nice Mayfield Team. Congrats.
I miss M.Y.!
For some reason, I have a feeling that the result would not have been much different, if any, even with Yeagle.

If CC is not known for being good against the run, Highlands should win without many problems.
-
Hazard scores with :20 left to play in the game, sends their PAT team out and fakes it for 2. Gutsy and great call (even if they didn't get it, I like the call in this game, this type of sitution, etc.)!
wow, those kinds of endings to games are fun.

As a resident that has always lived in NKY, I feel that way at times. But I can also say that I can't complain until someone rises to the challenge. Louisville is clearly a cut above the rest of KY in 6A, as well as all other classes this year. Just think, Trinity's team is young this year, meaning there should be plenty more to come for them.
-
Congratulations Birds, bring #20 back to NKY. Congratulations to HC on a good season as well.
-
Sounds like this was a very good game and much, much closer than some expected. I knew that this would not be a blowout or shutout as some surprisingly thought. Congratulations to both teams on great seasons and good luck to Hazard next week.

Ryle played a very good half of football but Trinity's defense was just too much to handle. I came away very impressed with Bishop, he is like a bowling ball with feet. Also impressed with Mullens, he's a very versatile player for the Raiders. I left before Elliott made his long run but prior to that he was a non factor, and that tells me all I need to know about the Trinity defenders.
Very good point, Elliott was a nightmare for all other defenses he faced prior to tonight.
-
How would this Mayfield team stack up against some of the NKy powers, NCC, Cov Cath, Dixie, Highlands, etc.?
They could have possibly beat them all this season. Highlands I'm not sure about, but the others I would think they had very good chances.
-
No doubt. Ryle is probably #2. Nothing to hang heads about in Union.
I totally agree with you.
-
Trinity was definitely the faster team tonight and was clearly the difference. Ryle has played very well offensively against everyone they have played all season prior to tonight and they have not been stopped by any defense all season like they were tonight. After seeing this game, it is definitely fair to say that Trinity is the best team in the state.

Congratulations on the win to the Cardinals and to a team that is much better than some realized, including myself. Good luck next week against Hazard.
-
Great win Breds, get OC next week for the title.
-
Congratulations Rebels, sounds like it was a hard fought one.
-
Congratulations OC. One thing is certain, the 2A state champion will be a Catholic school.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of the kids out there soaking up this weather! There are a whole lot of kids that would love to switch places with you right now!
Very true, this will be one of the greatest moments for all the guys involved this deep in the playoffs, as it is always.

Ryle just couldn't get anything going against Trinity's defense. I don't think there was anything/anyone to blame for Ryle, Trinity was just very fast and well disciplined, like nearly always.
