Nope. They all get playing time. I 'm just not going to do a full substitution so your varsity can throw my JV around. They get in with support. Very few JV players have the strength and experience to safely or effectively play an entire half of varsity football. They get beat up enough through the week. I don't need to put them out there for more punishment. They have a JV schedule that they look forward to and do well in. The JV (like the losing team) need to experience first hand what they need to improve on and see how much better they can get.

These kids practice and prepare for hundreds of hours a year for the opportunity to play a "MAXIMUM" of 48 minutes a week. Your performance against an opposing team is better than any practice or speech a coach can give. A person should be able to reap the rewards of hard work. I am not saying score 80 if you can, but these kids are competitors and deserve and have earned the opportunity to compete. You talk about the shortage of officials? Look at the shortage of players. Some schools just can't get the kids out to play anymore. Why? Because it's physically and mentally demanding, hard work. I'm sorry. I am not taking an opportunity to compete away from one of my kids because my team is better than yours. These kids have worked hard all year long to make themselves better and, unless I have the roster to so, I am not benching him when he performs to level he is capable of just to make you feel better. Every team can be beat and there is always room for improvement. Allow your kids to take the loss as a motivation to get better. There are some classless wins out there, yes. But as I said earlier, sometimes you just don't have the roster to call off all the dogs. Oh. And to answer your question. The programs that win with class are off somewhere with the fans that just watch the game. Everyone is a coach nowadays. Come put in the 40+ hours per week to make the decisions on Friday nights.

Either Green walks in this one by +14 or Monroe wins a close one. I can't decide yet. I try to not think about any other game of the year, because they are irrelevant to a rivalry. I think Green is hungry to avenge last years loss and they know they can play solid and aggressive on both side of the ball as they did against Lone Oak. My worry is if it's a close game, Green's poor extra point play is going to get them beat like at Glasgow and LaRue. I can't wait for Friday night!

If a kid has the ability to break the record, you should give him the chance. A coach knows if something like that is important to one of his players. It also takes a special match up for something like that to be possible and when you start to see it happen, you just got to go for it. Congratulations to JJ on an amazing game!

Green didn't come out very excited tonight either. It wouldn't matter. This rivalry brings out the fight in us all. Finally glad to be talking about this game. It's been a long time since region last year.

Doesn't appear to be the game to watch if you are a fan of defensive football. I expect this game to end up in the 40's and won on a late drive. May have to make the trip down for this one.
